As a Charger fan, when MGordon held out then came back, Ekeler was on a great stat streak. Then HC Anthonly Lynn and his old boy network, welcomed Gordon and pushed Ekeler to the side. Depending on the contract weeks a player is injured and not available they might not get that weekly check, Long term contracts can often have big numbers, but only part of it;s guaranteed. This is in contrast to the NBA, MLB, NHL that have guaranteed contracts. Taxes are paid on salary for games played in states with income taxes(nicknamed the jock tax). So, even if you live in state with no income tax. every state that has income tax that's an away game you have to pay taxes to that state.
