I actually love the motion of Kevin's fowers, and the fact they go down and around the cake, as well as up, give it a look of seeming more full and like a branch. I have neber really seen that look but i much prefer it! And i feel if he got that deeper, richer, royal green he wanted, with the gold and look of the flowers it would have looked high class and beautiful!

Less would have been more, but apart from that he didn’t do to badly. Unfortunately because of the flowers I have to award my vote to Laurie for this competition.

I would love to see Laurie taking Kevin's cake idea and riffing off it. There is a connection between the flowers and the hexagons - I presume Kevin was thinking of honeycomb. So I could see Laurie changing up the colour and adding some bees, etc.

You’re both G.O.A.T.s in different categories ~ Kevin your category is “Newbie” and Laurie yours is “Professional “. I hope you do another competition. I think Kevin should decorate a cake with Laurie verbally guiding him only. I think the fans should vote on what Kevin would decorate. Make a list of 3-5 different options in community tab. Of course the option with highest vote will be the cake Kevin decorates. Maybe do this for Easter (but I wouldn’t want to wait that long to watch the video lol).

So hilarious! Your bickering about the goat vs old goat reminded me of when my mom and I went out for lunch with my grandmother. We got a doggy bag because we couldn't finish it, and as my mom was standing up she said "don't forget the bag" so I reached over and grabbed my grandmother. Kevin's cake concept was awesome! I think it would've looked even better if he had also put the hexagons he had cut out around the main piece of chocolate. I think if there was the time/resources some little bees on the flowers would be awesome too. Still, incredible work, especially for a first attempt and under such a strict time limit. The flowers ended up looking a bit 'tacked on' and I think Laurie's cake would've looked better without them, or with a bit fewer of them. But the geode itself looked amazing!

I love the geode without the gold. I LOVE gold and add it to everything I craft but I always think it makes cake geodes look like something you’d buy at a tacky tourist shop. The added crystal sugar is stunning especially where you tossed it around the cake.
