Hi Laurie, I’m am wanting to enroll in this course, Honestly I can make a great tasting cake from scratch, though I tend to frost cakes straight out of the cake pan without making any cuts as I tend to make a frosted single layer cake. I have never considered making a professional looking cake due to not knowing where to get started 😅 is this course for a beginner? Would leveling in general and cutting/avoiding the sometimes excess dome shape be things I can expect to learn from this course? It would be a super intro to even decorating a cake for me… your videos have inspired me to get back into baking (as of today lol) As I feel happiest when I’m making things for people/ being creative.

Hey Charles! This is 100% a beginner friednly course. I go through every step that goes into cake decorating including leveling! This course is perfect for: -Beginners who have maybe tried a few simple cakes, and would love to learn every step, tip & trick that goes into a cake start to finish. -Bakers who've been baking for a while, but no matter what... things aren't working out, and their cakes never end up looking like their inspiration pictures. -People who know what their doing, but havn't been able to keep up with the new taller, square edged, perfectly smooth cakes trends with modern designs and really want to level up their cake game. You're not alone!! Honestly for years I would attempt a cake from Pinterest and it end up looking nothing like it having no idea where I went wrong! Trust me I have to covered. Alongside the course I have step by step bonus materials including a CAKE DESIGN WORKBOOK!! This is honestly make designing a breeze! and LOL omg I feel so bad sometimes when my brain just can't keep up but I'm in full panic panic cake cake cake mode hahaha

One tip to give on floral design is to hide your flower work on the backside of cake using greenery so you don’t see the flower stems. It gives it a more professional look when you can’t see open spaces or the stems. I am trying to watch all your videos they are so good! Another thing about the beautiful spring cake you made you might experiment with a wispy garland look that wraps around your cakes in a “S” shape design. 🤟💕

I also thought of this! I’m glad your doing it! A buttercream with a lot of butter will freeze solid in the freezer after a few min. It’s how to do the buttercream transfer . I imagined it could be done with this technique. Yay

We had NO idea how hard this was going to be to create... and every step of the way was just another challenge. But we didn't want to just slap it together and call it a day. The bonus resources alone were months of development to make sure they were easy and helpful and aesthetic (because common, everything HAS to be cute!). I’d say the purpose of this vid is to demonstrate the technique in a simple, approachable format. For this purpose, a single color makes it easier to see the details. If someone is looking to replicate the technique they can pipe any color combo or design they want into the origami “mold” so that it’s complimentary to the other decorative elements of the cake, and/or suits the theme.
