Both were _amazing_ , crazy effort and skills. I could see the 1st being more bridal and it leans more traditional but the 2nd cake made me GASP 🤯 the piping looked like melted copper and the flowers literally look like metal. They also captured the moodiness so beautifully✨

I like the first cake better. There's more variance with the copper in the first, which really adds to it. Although some of the copper brushing could be executed better on the first cake and it could have more darker blue to give it more depth. The second cake the copper is too monotone.

The first cake is AI brought to life and it's really lovely, but that second cake nailed it for me. The darker color and the stunning, intricate flowers were honestly remarkable. I think it's the organic artistry of the second cake which persuaded me.

I think they are both gorgeous! I can't see any bride being mad at either one. I do love, however, how each baker had their own take on the AI design and, in my opinion, elevated it. You just can't beat human artistry. 🤷‍♀💖

I like how the cake is kind of a combination of both the emerald and copper cake. Yes I know it's meant to look like oxidized copper, but I'm seeing emerald and I think it makes it better. Copper just goes well with green. Overall faithful, while bringing some cool new ideas.

The second cake is my favorite because there's more drama in the color of the actual cake. She added the copper sponging color around the top of each tier. I think that helps pull the whole cake together. That being said, I would be absolutely overjoyed to have a cake by either of these decorators. So truly talented!!!

So beautiful both of them. I love how true to the picture the first cake is. It's so interesting with the orange copper color and the jewels in the flower. However, personally, I like the proportions and colouring of the second cake better. They're both amazing.

I think if I gave that picture to a bakery and got either of those back I would be thrilled with the outcome. Neither would have me wishing they did something better or different, because they both look absolutely beautiful and I don't think one of them looks more like the picture than the other if that makes sense.

I love LOVE the second cake. I love how metallic the copper is and the blue spray in the flowers instead of the jewels actually makes it look even more metallic. As for the flavor I'd make a dark chocolate cake with orange flavoring and a chocolate buttercream, yum.

I really loved both of them but I think the second bakery changing the design of the piping to resemble actual flowers rather than squiggles makes the cake even more beautiful than the one designed by AI. So overall I choose the second one but the first baker really nailed the AI’s design and gave you exactly what you asked for! Great job to both bakers!

800$ is ridiculous for 3 layers of Styrofoam and a 25$ cake on top... Its pretty but this was a waste of money honestly

this is such an old comment but dummy cakes actually cost about as much money to make as real cake does - buying styrofoam vs baking a cake doesn't have that much of a price difference, and the money you're spending on custom cakes is almost always about the decorating. dummy cakes are genuinely only used when you want a big cake but dont want leftovers (which is what was explained in this video), because the amount of work that goes into it is not that different. for the cake to be fully cake, it probably would have only costed somewhere in the range of 100-300 or so more, depending on how much of a profit the bakery is wanting to make (price range there may be slightly off because im trying to work with a different currency and economy in my head and translate it to usd/cad)

I understand that the styrofoam has to be decorated too, which is the most expensive part of the whole cake, but I always thought styrofoam was much much cheaper than baking a cake.

7:00 to me it looks like the lines are piped, maybe w/ royal icing. I base this on the overlaps and the flourish at the ends. But then again I'm not seeing it in person, and it is an AMAZING job no matter how it was done.

The first one took it as a challenge to directly recreate, the second one translated it into something they'd honestly see at a formal event. I do this a lot at my visual, client-based job. Sometimes I try to recreate, sometimes I interpret. Sometimes you need to follow the letter of what someone is asking for, and sometimes you need to "hear" the spirit of the request better than the letter. Both technically beautiful skilled bakeries.

I personally like the coloring of the 2nd cake more!! I also like it's height proportions of the tiers more as well, but both are GORGEOUS and made by clearly talented decorators. I want to see this done with the emerald!!

If I have to choose I like the second one best, but either one if I saw them at a wedding, I'd be impressed no matter what! The one little thing I feel was not totally captured (and probably because it's super hard to do) is the iridescent, chatoyant quality of the blend of blue and copper on the lower tiers fondant. I'm a painter and that's something not easy to do well, I can just imagine with cake material how challenging that would be. If they would have nailed that, it would have been out of this world! I feel the second cake has it slightly closer to the picture on this point. But all in all, great job everybody!!!

I feel like if I'm ordering this cake for my wedding and I asked them to replicate the cake in the image, I would prefer the first cake because it looks closer to what I provided, and would probably fit better with the colour scheme of the wedding itself. Something about the dark copper colour of the second cake is throwing me a bit compared to the image. (I think the first bakery did the copper/flowers better, and the second bakery did the blues better.) Both bakeries did a great job overall. But tbh finding out that three of those layers are basically unedible styrofoam makes the $800 feel a little steep.

I think I actually like the lighter blue with the copper - it gives more of a contrast, since blue and orange/copper are opposite ends of the colour spectrum, and having one darker (copper), and one lighter (blue), really makes the copper pop. I really liked the flower piping, though, it was a lot more intentional-looking than the random swirls of the first cake. Both of them really nailed those glass sugar flowers, but I liked the jewels in the first one, and could imagine it would fit a wedding dress better - rhinestones on the dress/sparkly jewellery. They were both pretty spectacular. I'd love to see an AI character type cake in the future - I had a look at chocobo cakes, and the AI generators got some really interesting results.
