People comparing offroad capability of Fortuner against Trailblazer dont really know what they are talking about, I have driven both, I have been with the trailblazer for years taking it to outskirts jungles and mining sites in the hills, this thing is a beast. The power, the torque, the stability, handling, suspension. Of course interior styling and comfort I would give it to the Fortuner, but if you're looking to wonder off into the wilds then the Trailblazer will give you more confidence on the road.

I have been driving my 2.8 auto LTZ 4x4 for over a year now. The only major problem I have had with it is the fact that it still has a timing belt and not a timing chain. I have done the whole Groenkloof 4x4 track(including rocky part), I have done De Wildt, Breedsnek, Basslake(my first 4x4 track in the Trailblazer) and even the Magalies mountain here in Pretoria on the R80, all the way to the top. I have not regretted purchasing the vehicle. Even without a rear locker I would prefer it over the Fortuner, Pajero, Land Rover, Prado and the Everest. PS. I know this is an old video.

Hi there, are you still driving your Chevrolet Trailblazer 2.8 auto LTZ? I am thinking of purchasing a 2013 model with 114,000km's. I would really appreciate some advice before purchasing. How is the vehicles overall reliability? Does it have high maintainance costs? Is it easy to service and get parts for it? What is the fuel consumption figures in real time (city and highway driving)? Also, what would you advise regarding the timing belt? Have you managed to find a solution to it? Thank you.

Hey Dhyushmesh Thank you for your response. We have been receiving more and more requests for comparison tests so this is definitely something that we will be looking into in the new year. Watch this space.
