Hello Andrea, Seasonal change accompanied by illness is not necessary, you know. I had problems with hay fever, but since I drink this daily, I no longer suffer from it! It is not a tea against hay fever, but for several things. I had several minor ailments, but I no longer have them. Everything is a lot better, lol. I noticed that my husband pointed it out to me. And that is how we actually found out that it must be the tea. It does not go fast, but it is steadfast. You can let it steep hot, but also cold. I do it cold. Half a liter of water. Ginger, turmeric, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon peel (finely ground and dried) and Tulsi (holy basil). I use 1/4 teaspoon of the powders (I have almost everything in powder form, that is easier to store) of the lemon peel 1 level teaspoon, 1 to 2 cardamom, 3 cloves. And then I put it in the fridge with a lid on it. And the next day I put it in the microwave for a bit and I have nice warm tea. If it's not to your taste, play around with it until you get your taste. I even add a little honey, not too much so as not to spoil the taste. If you let it steep warm, then let it sit for about 10 minutes. I think 10 minutes is enough. Good luck if you're going to use it. By the way, I just call it 7 herbal tea and it is centuries old, because it is Buddhist

The building is really coming along; soon ready for the roof! Glad to see you putting in more storage space in your kitchen. It's always needed! When I clear my garden beds for the winter, I just cut the plants down at ground level leaving the roots to decompose. They also provide areas for worms to hang out in thru the winter. When you prepare and amend your beds in spring, you can toss whatever debris is left into your compost pile.

Everything is coming along so wonderfully! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you! I’m glad it shows through. Pace of life is slow but it’s really joyful. I’m really happy here with it, hence why sometimes we don’t have videos on some weekends. All the outing will be by hand. I don’t think a truck can reach the area without possibly damaging the garden or something. It doesn’t take that long by hand and we are in no rush ❤️

Loved your video, and your kitchen cabinet looked so pretty. Enjoyed Omar playing his guitar, I would enjoy hearing him play more. I have never had chestnuts, they do not grow around here. But we have lots of pecans and several large farmers grow peanuts. Your bread looked delicious, and I love homemade bread but I am too lazy to knead & mess with the yeast etc. years ago when we were younger, and I was teaching School, when we got a snow day, and got to stay home I made cinnamon rolls and yeast dinner rolls, they never looked pretty but my daughters & husband enjoyed them. Wishing y’all a blessed week, and Simon has really gotten a lot of work done on your house. Looking forward to your next video.

Absolutely love cinnamon rolls, probably my favourite. I would like to try making it with the sour dough, would probably taste lovely. Have you tried mankind cinnamon rolls and add pecans? Taste delicious! Sour dough bread doesn’t require a lot of needed, you normally fold it and leave it for hour to ferment. I also don’t like kneading for hours! They sour dough and see how it goes! It also taste so much better

Omar you're a dab hand at making furniture now (kitchen shelving units etc) just love watching all things materialise from pieces of wood. When do you think you will be pouring the ring beam?. There was a legend that a squirrel could travel from Georgia to Maine (roughly 2225 km up the US eastern coast) without touching the ground due to the density of the chestnut canopy. Sadly, the chestnut blight in the early 1900's killed all of those trees, and an important staple food for those who lived in the region. I'd love to see them make a comeback here, the trees are so stately. Btw, if you aren't using a banneton basket for you loaves to rise in, that may be contributing to their flatter shape. The baskets force the expansion upward instead of evenly outward and create a more rounded shape.
@TheIndigoEscape
@TheIndigoEscape 2 ай бұрын
Oh wow I didn’t know about the squirrel. The world landscape has changed so much for one thing or the other. I really want to get another chestnut tree. I do rest them on bannetons but maybe what’s happening is that I’m not folding the dough tight enough? 🤔
@christineb8148
@christineb8148 2 ай бұрын
@@TheIndigoEscape it could definitely be not getting it tight- that's a technique that takes a lot of experience to perfect (which i haven't)! The other thing that occurred to me is using an old school thermometer to check your oven temp is accurate since having a loaf go in a too hot oven can inhibit oven spring and most oven thermostats are off at least a little. I use a cast iron dutch oven inside my oven to help maintain the humidity and temp more evenly which helps. It's a rewarding learning process!
@TheIndigoEscape
@TheIndigoEscape 2 ай бұрын
@@christineb8148 Thanks Christine. I always love your comments because they are full of knowledge. I do have a dutch oven but its packed, Im going to take it our and use it for the next batch. I also have an oven thermometer, also still packed! We just haven't unpacked everything we brought over from the UK because there isn't much space for it. But those two, i can find a home for it. I'll check those two first before fiddling around with the tightness. As you say, it take plenty of practice.
