Cool vid but the forest/woods are not hard to survive in lol... Even with basic knowledge im sure someone can stagger their way through 72 hours... Assuming you know... Common sense, a simple aframe/leantu, find a possible watersource survive on greenery and insects until you can find a huntable food source assuming there is one... Oh and know how to make a fire so your not rubbing sticks for nothing... Loose dead greens or birch if available makes that nice and easy... Other then that knowing your north only matters assuming you know your approximate location.. North isnt always good.... Few simple moments of common sense and your 72 hours are over, also a leantu can be covered on just one side as long as its in a good spot it will do just fine.. It may also ve best to boil your water for sanitation sake but our body does feed mostly off those minerals where possible, thats why distilled water is actually bad for our bodies... If its not salt water it poses much less risk i do like the though of killong bacterias dont get me wrong but water made to sterile will feed off your bodies stored minerals making your body fail a lot faster... Its a two headed snake boil it and no bacteria but also no minerals dont boil it and risk waterbourne illnesses

An experience that is worth sharing, basically not for 3 days but that's very brave of you to attempt such risk, yes survival comes with risks. One time I slept near a lake and woke up with lots of worms, spiders and other insects on my body, the area had a lot of deer, though they ran away from me quicker than I thought they would. What helped me the most is to boost my mental confidence, also physical instincts. I basically had Psilcoybin shrooms with me, which I ate and realised that my hearing and vision went into a very boosted survival state, yes I know that hallucinations were present but I could hear things that I would never hear, I could spot the deer from far distance in the bushes and be able to have a magnified view of insects, was so strange and spiritual. But that mental boost helped me to be able to scare any wild animal that comes. my experience was only for 12 hours, which had both day and night in them, I messed up by not having a night vision and that's where I felt the fear and adrenaline kick in, but cannot imagine how it would be like to have to consider longer time that requires sleeping for long. So brave of you.

I agree. You had food gel for emergency, why not a phone/radio/weapon, something in case of a bear. The challenge is to find food, water, shelter, not to stave off a bear attack empty handed. Or at least that's all that should be humanely expected for a challenge!

Having been stuck out in a survival situation I say don't lose your head. You need something to sleep on (insulation from the ground) and once you achieve that, something to sleep under if it rains. Friction fire is not easy so if you're going to be in the wilderness have some basic gear. A lighter, some matches, a fire steel, some tinder, etc can be a lifesaver. Always have a container! This challenge demonstrates that it's difficult to replicate a metal container in the wild. It's pretty easy to take a single walled steel bottle along and you should never be without one in the woods. A space blanket and some cordage is worth its weight in gold. The weight is about 2 oz but it can allow you to make a waterproof shelter in about two minutes instead of taking all day. Get some boughs to keep you off the ground, get an overhead shelter, get a fire going out front a pile of wood- then stay put! Don't wander around in the dark and risk dying in a fall or putting out an eye. Fire will very often keep predators away (most animals are instinctively afraid of fire). Food isn't important at all for a short span of a few days so if you don't take it with you don't think about it unless you have a ready source. Water is key, though, take some and make sure you can find it. Treating it is important but in most cases you're better off risking drinking the water which could get you sick than going without which will certainly result in your death.

There are brown black bears and even blonde black bears. The name Boack Bear was given under the assumption that those specific species were only black, but they turned out to also be brown and blonde. It's a misnomer.

That takes allot of guts to do what he did. You see today all these guys ( including me lol) go to the gym, hit weights, punch bags etc, and come away feeling tough. But to be in the Forrest alone in complete darkness with no supplies, now thats something 90% of us would not feel confident doing, allot of people would be scared of animals, the dark itself, or the supernatural element . Fair play to this guy he has my utmost respect. 👍🏼
