To be fair; anything you use in war can probably be replicated and used against you. They didn’t want to push the limits and cause more casualties that could have been prevented and less inhumane. No one wanted to die; and if someone has to for war; it shouldn’t be like that.

The Gustav cannon seems pretty spooky to me from the perspective of a soldier. There’s something pretty menacing about a gun thats the size of a building and can shoot you from nearly 30 miles away. Obviously it was too large to be practical and only shot around 50 shells in combat but I’m sure those 50 shells were pretty darn scary for soldiers in the forts that were shot at.

@thejohn66142 жыл бұрын
We're looking at it through generations of purposely making them out to be the most evil. I'd argue that the USSR was worse. And the main reason we think that about the Nazis is because of the Holocaust but people forget that for hundreds of years before that many countries expelled and murdered Jews. The Germans also tried to get other countries to take them and had plans to bring them all to Madagascar but the war had started and they couldn't have safely done it. Disliking and wanting rid of a group of people has happened in countless countries. Killing them the way they did makes sense logically seeing as they couldn't find another way of doing it. Doesn't make it any less horrible. Point is just that there have been many groups to do similar or arguably worse things but they were so strong and a big enemy that America celebrated defeating that for generations we've made them out to be the strongest and most evil thing ever which our glorious and righteous country defeated. History is determined by the victors.

Interesting fact about the torpedoes fired from the US subs... they were never tested during development with the ammunition bureau saying that they were too expensive to test and then they suffered detonation failures firstly by running so deep that they wouldn't hit the ship secondly the magnetic detonators wouldn't work and thirdly there auxirlly contact detonator springs were slightly at an angle so that wouldn't off either.. there was a report of a submarine commander firing all but 1 torpedoe at a single ship which still got away safely and took this torpedoe back for the navy engineers to open up yo see what's wrong going against the ammunition bureaus order to bot tamper with them. It years before they were working as intended...

It’s supposed to be click bait like “woah terrifying WW2 weapons? Is that a spiky wheel, is that thing a terrifying WW2 weapon? I gotta find out how that thing worked.”

Did you watch the vid and find out what that weapon was?
@plaguedoctor56393 жыл бұрын
@@brandonsvenson5323 it’s literally just one of those old hand pushed non-engine lawn mowers but for exploding mines so somebody doesn’t step on it.
@brandonsvenson53233 жыл бұрын
@@plaguedoctor5639 yeah that’s what that is but the in the video he talks about how to mine they searched for it’s made of wood so they couldn’t metal detect it and Germans started using it because of metal shortages

A video called "Most terrifying weapons of world war 2" but failed to mention the most terrifying weapon ever created, which also happened to be made in WW2; the atomic bomb.
@chrismack60273 жыл бұрын
Everyone knows about the atomic bomb. I think the point of the video was to showcase the lesser known weapons and devices.
