The connection to the sensor and the one that connects to the computer must be checked. Also check if the wiring in that harness is good. Check the voltage on the pins. Check the ground eswell..

Hi, I have been following your videos since you were scammed by the Chinese seller of the electric car. I recently watched a Hoovie's Garage video where Hoovie said that the Car Wizard had fixed the throttle pedal on his Cartrek CL65 AMG. They showed the pedal and it was just like yours. Check the wires going to the throttle body under the hood. I had the same problem, coating on the wire got brittle from the heat and was shorting out on the engine block.

The audio cables on the passenger side look like they are fed through the side panel and behind the glove compartment. You should be able to drop the glove compartment to get behind there.

I don’t understand why you are confused, the diagnostic tool has told you the fault, you have a short to ground. Check the pedal with a multi meter to confirm whether the fault is in the pedal box first (your replacement could also be bad, ie common problem). There is not going to be a mechanic mode, what purpose would that serve & who would switch that on !? Plus the Autel would tell you that anyway if it were a thing.

Start the car and use your reader to see if you're getting live data from the MAF sensor and all the other sensors so you can eliminate them.

More than a few mins, more like 10 mins min, some of the modules seem to keep their power for ages, when reconnected wipe the codes again, R230s chuck out codes like Jordan Belfort got though pills.

Also did you try disconnecting the battery and shorting the pos and neg cables together for a few mins? this will clear the computer of any corruption it may have. just like restarting a computer

Your throttle problem could be related to a vacuum leak or the servo control is not function. Electronic throttle is to convert gas peddle position into an electronic signal. Engine computer converts this signall to open a vacuum control valve(or servo motor)to move the throttle. If the throttle failed to move, computer will issue an error. In general, the throttle position is linked to a potential meter. The output voltage will tell the computer where the throttle position is.Give it a try, you may find the solution soon.

Well like you said the throttle peddle is something stupid at this point but if it says it has a short to ground maybe a computer controlling it has a problem if you know for sure the variable resistor built into it is actually working. Sounds like your new scan tool can read everything so might want to check and see if it can update firmware and do any factory calibration required with some replacement parts like you said. I have a Autel Maxi Check pro and it can READ all the computers on my 06 Charger RT that I recently got but not sure if it can update firmware and do key fobs and other advanced functions. They are excellent tools at each price point and get free updates. I still say see if you can manually move the throttle body linkage to make sure it is free just in case. If it doesn't respond and run the rpm up and down maybe it has a broken part or the motor that moves it is dead so it isn't getting anything from the new peddle assembly. Definitely contact some Mercedes experts and they might know a easy fix or what to do.

Go into your live data on your scanner and check that the tps (throttle position sensor) is reacting to your pedal inputs. You might even check with the car powered, on but not running, to see if the throttle body plate is opening up in response to your pedal inputs. I suspect it’s not, and if not, perhaps you can go from there. And yeah, Alex from legitstreetcars is a former Mercedes tech, and a good guy. He might be able to help.

Turn the key to ON position. Position II that is. Don’t start the car. Press and hold the gas pedal for at least five seconds. Keep the pedal pressed. Turn ignition off but do not remove the key. Now release the gas pedal. Remove key. Wait a minute before you restart your Mercedes Might be worth a go

More in depth version ECU Accelerator Pedal Reset Procedure Note Timing is critical for this to work! 1. Turn the ignition switch to on. Dash gauges lit. Don t start the engine! 2. Wait 3 seconds. 3. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 5 times within 5 second. 4. Wait 7 to 10 seconds. 5. Fully depress the accelerator pedal for approximately 10 seconds. At this point the check engine light starts blinking quickly indicating Diagnostic Test Mode II (Self-diagnostic results) has started. 6. Release accelerator pedal and wait 5 to 10 seconds. 7. Fully depress the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds. At this point the check engine light should change to blinking slowly indicating “Erasing ECU Memory”. 8. Release the accelerator pedal and turn the ignition switch to off. 9. Restart the engine. The check engine light should be out. Note: If the check engine light doesn't blink as described in steps 5 & 7, then the ECU isn't reset. * If above didn't work, disconnect the battery negative and pump the brake to discharge the ECU capacitors. This method is almost foolproof as long as all ECU control parameters are within their normal ranges.

@The Inja Your problem is related to the key/security system on your car. 2 things - either KEY is bad or EZS is bad... Nothing else. This Search search is where you should start searching for the issue and how to solve it. Google it: drive authorization system Mercedes-Benz. Even if your car starts, it does not recognize the key as a valid key. Your issue is software/security related. Try to find the free version of ezs/ESL emulator Mbe engineering tool on torrent if possible because the paid version is expansive I hope I helped.

I had the same car but it was SL500. There is a Button on the Gass pettle so when you press the pettle all the way to the floor it will hit a buttle that disable the car from responding to any more Acceleration. Meaning When you press the pedal again it does absolutely nothing But the car is still on It won't rev at all. You either have to take apart That The acceleration pedal Button and see if there's a connection or somehow deep pressed that button or you have to get the exact Same Pedal for that car and replace it and then you have to program it. I have no idea why Mercedes put a button on the bottom of the pedal where if you press it all the way to the floor it would hit that button and all the sudden the car would No longer accelerate or move or do anything. I call it the stop button. Of course you just got the car and you never pressed the pedal all the way to the floor like you was trying to floor it but the person before you did that and that's the reason why it stopped and at that point he didn't know what it was that made the car stopped working.

I've added a modern Kenwood double din unit with full connectivity to the 06 r230 Bose system, it's complicated, you need a quality (read: expensive) MOST decoder, mine came from Germany, the cheap eBay ones don't seem to work, I tried a few. Then I used an auto programming steering wheel adapter and an external Kenwood ariel stuck to the windscreen, it works but it's a project to get it there.

You actually could have a point. The filler cap breather on my 1980 3.0s Capri blocked and caused a vacuum causing the engine not to run. I had practically dismantled the entire engine bay and found NOTHING wrong. So back to basics... Is there a Spark ? -- YES Is there Compression -- Yes Is it timed ? - - Yes Is there fuel ? -- Well I had only just filled it up so Yes. Wait.. Just because the fuel tank is full doesn't mean it's getting fuel. (pours neat fuel down the carbs - Brrrrm It started. WTF ?? Trace it back... Took the fuel cap off to be met with a suction sound as I took it off. BINGO

If it’s not one thing, it’s another. I’m sure you realize these cars don’t age well. I wouldn’t use this for a daily driver. If you want to stay sane of course. I would have gone broke having someone chase down all these problems! I’m not very good when it comes to working on a complicated vehicle such as a Mercedes. I would probably mess thing up even more than when I started! I am much more comfortable with cars from the 20s thru the 70s. This car has about 25 computers running all the systems. I hope none of them are on the fritz! Why do people mess around with the wiring in such a complicated vehicle? Nothing good will come of it. Will be watching to see why it’s not doing what it’s supposed to be doing. And your efforts to fix it or them so you and your wife can get it out on the road and enjoy putting the top down sunglasses on and feeling the wind as it blows through your hair. Well 500 is a lot for most of us but like he said compared to the ultra high end check and do everything ones it's cheap. He makes decent money doing the various things he does and it's s tool that will save him so much time and money on his expanding family fleet it's well worth it to him. I paid 169 for a similar but lesser Autel because all the cars I and my family actually drive are much newer now and all support obd2. I can track down and fix most problems easily by just plugging it in under the driver's side of the dash and it's saved me and my extended family lots of money.
