To explain the hate that XG gets. Some of it is from South Koreans who have a, let's say 'complicated', history with Japan. So that is what it is. But they also get some (vocal minority) hate over accusations of cultural appropriation and 'black-fishing'. Which is obviously ridiculous if you know anything about XG, Simon (their DP), or their org, they are only ever paying homage, and love hip hop and black culture in general. This tape 4 showing is incredible to me. The thing I love the most about it, is that you can tell the writers and the girls decided to tackle the cultural appropriation accusations head on. Every girl had a line in their tape addressing it. Harvey: "They don't like my tone as if it's pitch black" -- They don't like her tone because she's pitching it to sound "black" Maya: "I spit like this but look like that, to some of y'all, it must be a complicated complexion" -- With a skin complexion like Maya, you wouldn't expect these bars. Cocona: "Am I a gift and a curse for the culture? when I spit with these words, could it hurt ya?" -- Is XG hurting the culture by being this hip hop? Does it take away from the struggle? Jurin: "And I always deciphered the beat, no rap parody" -- They aren't pretending to be rappers, they ARE rappers. For me, it's Maya. She slid on that beat, her cadence and flow switches were immaculate. And Cocona with the XG writers, some of whom are black producers from Atlanta by the way, penning an absolute love letter to HOVA. Harvey and Jurin were still top-tier in this tape, but I think a step below Maya and Coco. The two youngest in the group are absolutely insane hip-hop prodigies... and I can't wait to see where they go from here.

True, they are born to be rapper turned to be an idol, not an idol became a Rapper trying Hard wanna be 😂 even in a diss battle, cypher battle or freestyle on the spot against 80% of Kpop rappers wanna be , they will ate them, no crumbs and leftovers 🥶 Maya and Cocona's Combo was sweet and cute but can be a deadly duo at the same time. The "hate" comes mostly from Korean netizens to a certain degree because xg doesn't consider themselves as kpop but X-pop instead while promoting in Korea. It's really unfortunate because they just want to appeal to everyone on earth.
