Now this is an odd one, but hear me out. In some way that world cup final where Götze scored the winning goal also killed his carreer. Before that match people saw him as you talented player, who would need more time to develop. After that match people saw him as immediate star and expected way too much from him. He was quickly transferred to Bayern München where he underperformed as he couldn't deal with the amount of pressure being put onto him, after some years he returned back to Dortmund, but again underperformed - this time due to health problems - and now he plays for Amsterdam in the dutch league and there is a good chance that he won't recover to his full potential.

Both Maicon and Casillas were giants. In their greatest forms, I can't compare Maicon to anybody and Casillas was even better than Neuer ever was. Karius is really a sad story. After the UCL final, even Klopp admitted the guy had some serious skill, but his random huge mistakes had been a problem in a while. In Besiktas, it was stated he had both huge skills but he maintained doing awful errors, also being stated that he was possibly dealing with depression, sadly. Really sorry for this guy.
