Housewife jobs come in lots of varieties. In the 60's I became a "housewife" at the age of 19. A few years later there were 2 children. I not only took care of the house and kids, I quickly found that I had to take over handling finances. I knew nothing about it, but learned quickly...so I paid the bills. Once my kids were in kindergarten, I enrolled in college... didn't know how to do that either, but I asked lots of questions and figured it out. Six years later, I graduated Magna cum laude. I went to work for a fortune 500 company, all while still taking care of the home and kids and finances. Eight years later, I completed a Master's degree, and opened a private practice (I also completed another degree in the medical field). I did all this while still taking care of the home, kids, pets, finances, holidays, took care of husband through his cancer, and more. Housewives do MUCH more than watch soaps operas and eat candy. Plus, you never know what kind of person her husband turned out to be. Yes, he provides the income, but at what cost? Mine turned out to be a high functioning alcoholic.

My daughter and her husband of twenty two years is now getting a divorce because of his vote. She was raped as a child by her own father and he knows it! Her step father taught her how to protect herself. He ran like the coward he is after she called 911. The officers saw what he did to her, took pictures of her wounds and filed a report on him. She is getting a divorce and selling the house right in his face. And he can't get back in the house now. The company she works for has good lawyers and owns a realtor. It's not their fault, or, if blame must be assigned, then it's 1 part of every Trump vote, which isn't much. You can blame an individual for a their action or choice. But when an entire demographic of people do it, then the reason is going to be institutional or systemic. In this case, the media has radicalized people and taken the team-sport perspective to an extreme making it exceptionally difficult for anyone to pick whose advocating for the simple policy they do support at the cost of the whole package. American politics has, for decades, failed to deliver promised results under both major parties leading to disenfranchisement and disengagement. Now we have great-grands and we're all teaching them the same concept of family. We used to plan everything but, in the last five years, THEY have been calling each other and planning everything so I think we're pretty safe.

Back when I was a Christian, I briefly went to a church that preached that women were meant to be housewives and mothers, so they didn’t encourage young girls to go to college or trade school. Which is one of the many reasons I stopped going to that church. I just don’t think it’s prudent to fling a young girl out into the world without a means to take care of herself financially. Husbands die, husbands leave, husbands beat you. What are you going to do with yourself and your children when those things happen? They’re living in a fairy tale. I'm European and I got so tired about the Brexit process I felt blessed when they finally exited. In Spain, lots of UK residents didn't even bother to regulate their status, although the government gave help and time to do so, they were in shock because they found out they only could stay at their homes for three months per year. Most of them haven't even bothered to learn Spanish after decades living in the country while calling themselves "expat" because immigrant sounds low class 😂 They also demanded for the government granting them nationality 😂😂😂... they don't even like us and reject the language and culture and they think they deserve nationality...😂

Unfortunately many of the Brits who've gone to Spain think they are exceptional people who don't have to learn foreign languages [or anything at all] and treat their hosts like skivvies [servants]. In the 60's/70's besides abortion we were fighting for the right to be able to legally use birth control (even though the pill existed doctors were not allowed to subscribe it) and also fighting for the right to even have a bank account separate from our husbands. Men controlled any money flow we may have been permitted to have. Not all men let their wives work. Not all fathers let their daughters work. Those who were, were only allowed certain jobs like nurse, school teacher, maid, secretary, waitress, things like that. If we were abused by our husbands or they cheated on us and we left them and got divorced we lived as tainted women. Divorcees were considered used goods, somehow dirty and inferior. The men on the other hand held no stigma if they were divorced. Thought we were past all this repression on women. Apparently we're devolving to the bad old times. It's tragic and sad. We fought so the younger generations could have happier, freer lives and they're joyfully crapping all over that hard work. These young women have absolutely no idea how bad it can be. It's appalling that they'd be fighting for it. More education if they would be willing to accept it would help alleviate this dangerous ignorance.

My son is an adult and I brought him up on my own. His father was a drug addict that died early in his life. I am very blessed that my son and I get along great and he voted Blue all the way. He has a wonderful, very successful GF who is also voted Blue. BUT I just found out my sister and her husband voted for Trump. They have 3 daughters and 5 grand-daughters. My sister's husband really loves my son as his own and we spent many holidays together, but now that is over. My sis was yelling at me that she voted for Trump and wouldn't talk anymore about it. She was angry at me and I never said anything so clearly they've already gotten some flack about it. Probably because one of their son-in-laws, who has helped them a lot, is from Mexico and perhaps they have found out that they are the group that voted to deport him, just when they were on the verge of buying a house. I don't feel sorry for them. I feel sorry for my niece and her husband who are wonderful people.

My trainer who voted for Trump didn't know what he voted for. I am a naturalized citizen. I told him I may not come to the gym any more. He didn't think I would be deported per Trump's policy of 'denaturalization of us citizen'. He said 'it is for criminal etc'.I stopped training session this morning and had him sit down to talk about what he actually voted for. He was in disbelief. I only have one personal training session left. His willful ignorance is beyond my comprehension. His excuses were like 'economy was better, transgender people etc'.
