I agree, he seems perfectly suited to a number 6 role to me. It's also an area we are desperate for someone to compete with Bissouma. Once we get our defenders back I hope to see him given game time in that role

yeah biss needs competition so he levels dont drop like they did last season and gray will provide that it just depends on what we decide to do with spence and emerson thias season if we sell both he will be porros deputy for a season and like wise when our defenders are back i hope to see gray in the 6

Foe me archie gray will be playing cdm. We seen glimpses of some of passes he can do against hearts from that cdm role. I think Ange has him in Central defence as I think as the cdm he will be required to drop back into that defence at times. I can see him taking bissouma place during the season unless bissouma performs regularly. I think we are going to play him cdm remember all our back line apart from porro. As soon as the defence is back is when you will see where he wants to play archie gray. Spence will be the back up for porro and will play early cup games and eurpoa. I can see him being around for the first half of the season.

hello paul i want to see gray in midfield for me it just depends what they do with spence and emerson at rb if we sell both he will be used as porros back up how ever i hope we keep spence which means gray can compete for his natural position and hopefully give biss a kick uo the arse to not drop off

Great chat boys. I'd like to think that Ange sees the versatility that you both do and is of a mind to to use both Archie and others in various positions as required during games. In that respect we could become a handful for any opposition who may think they have us worked out, only to find all of a sudden they are out of position and chasing shadows. big up to you both. I trust in Djed Spence to fight it out with Poro. I see Archie Gray being played in various positions this year, in midfield mainly and potentially right back depending where needed. If he stays fit he'll play in 40 games and start in 20. Gray is going to be in the England Suad in the next couple of years. And a couple of more years down the line he's going to be one of the first names on the team sheet for England.

Djed is an interesting one if he stays gray will be in the midifeld if djed and emerson are sold he will be used more prodominantly at rb next season but i would prefer to see gray in the midfield for sure it his natural position coys

I think he can play the number 6 role….busquets, carrick style of player so composed, press resistant and has the intelligence to understand ange’s philosophy. He is also willing to play anywhere across the midfield, only 18yrs old and already is showing a massive celling in terms of potential….IN ANGE WE TRUST😎🔥

With 3 mids and normally one being an AM I think a player like Gray who has a nice balance of defensive nous and range of passing plus good vision, awareness and composure is ideal to play one of two CDM roles rather than a more dedicated DM role. By CDM I mean a mixed central and defensive player rather than a defensive mid that sits in the central position and covers the threat I think with attacking full backs offering more an am threat than any full back defence having 2 CDM's is the best way to ensure both flanks have some protection The big question for me is not about where Gray should play because CDM looks great for him, but who should partner him who has the combination of qualities

yeah i agree mate he will screen the defence but he can also play and start moves like he was doing for leeds when he was playing through the middle for me i would play biss or sarr with him personally in that midifled

I'd start Moore, Son, Kulu; Madders, Lucas, Gray; Udogie, MVDV, Romero, Spence, Vic atm. At least until I see more. As for transfers, I mainly miss another playmaker. Like a Cole Palmer type.

Hi Dave and Jack. Suspect if Udogie not fully fit we'll have VDV Romero and Porro in the back line, probably throw Radu in there. I think Ange wouldn't throw in 2 new FB from Leicester onwards, unless like last he was desperate, where he threw in Davies and Emerson. If Udogie OK I'd like to see Gray behind Porro. Otherwise share a mid position between Gray and Bergval. Better them than Skipp, Lo Celso, PEH and to be honest, even Bentancur.

No.6 once our full squad is back pushing Biss hard for a starting spot, also with the amount of games and the hard pressing styles of Big Ange having fresh legs between the 2 of them will be important. Berghvall, Sarr and Bentacour will battle for the no.8 positions. With 2 hopefully 3 more signings our squad is looking really exciting for this upcoming season lads! @Jacki know what you’re trying to say about gray but I think that Archie gray is actually very suited to the inverted FB role. DJed spence is more of a hug touchline type player that can cross the ball. Gray will be perfect to come inside. He’s a good dribbler and ball carrier . However I agree that his best position will be as DM number 6

He's such an intelligent player Belgian Hotspur that you're right about how comfortable he'd be able to play that inverted fullback role. Maybe the plan is to get him on the pitch as much as possible since he is such a composed and technically sound player. His football IQ seems good enough to play almost any position in our system competently. (Jack)

I honestly think that Archie gray will start most games this season. I think Bergvall will start most games post Xmas . They’re obviously part of the plan so the quicker they learn the better.

I wonder if he'll play ahead of Bissouma in a lot of the games this season. I think that position is up for grabs with how inconsistent he was last season and Archie Gray's defensive presence has been very impressive. I hope we get to see him and Bergvall a lot. Well for me and call me negative nelly if you want. But last season he played at right back a lot for Leeds only because he couldn't nail down a first team spot in the midfield on the regular. So, for me he's a bench warmer at best for spurs. If we sign Ramsey (I wouldn't) then I have to question the logic of the signing overall

he is a midfielder yet has played at RB & CB, he wouldn't be a starter in midfield though so he will warm the bench & be aback up for Porro if Emerson leaves

The double pivot is something I could see Ange switch to more defensive stability without totally compromising his attacking philosophy. A lot of managers come to the Premier League with fresh ideas that eventually need a bit of tweaking in order to keep their win record consistent. (Jack)

Simples.. no 6 is his best role in our set up but he can definitely play no 8. He can do a job at right back in our system but don’t think that’s why we brought him or where he really wants to play. Keep Spence if Ange believes in him and he can stay motivated to compete with Porro.
