Maddison was also playing deeper too. He’s been really good since Kulusevski has joined him in midfield, taking some of his “playmaker” duties off him allowing him to drop a little deeper & dictate the game. I’m not the only one who’s noticed it either. Great performance & great win today. Solanke brought that much missed hold up & link up play back into the side, God we’ve missed that. COYS.

Tbh, I don't think Ange changed our approach to possession at all. I think that our attacking players just actually started taking chances (a full 90 for Dom helps a lot) which is what Ange wants with his system. More shots = ball turning over meaning more possession for the other team.

People keep saying it was a new tactic but I think players were just finally playing how Ange wants them to. We play a risky system but this whole season our boys have been hesitant to take risks going forward and just play the ball around aimlessly. Today we were just more direct and it felt like pure Ange ball.

Bentancur ain't getting enough praise, he played such a complete game, he's tracking back and defending while waiting for everyone to get back, he's pressing and interceptions from the pressing and the runs and passes in the oppositions half, he was amazing, which shocked me considering how I felt abt him playing dm before the game started

I personally believe ifs a low block or counter attacking team giving them more possession leads to more mistakes they can make that we can benefit from and counter attack through their gaps rather than trying to pass through a full defence

Keep your feet on the ground. This is against a weakened Brentford team not M City or L'pool. Must get over this "keep posession" mentality reulting in sideways and backwards passing. Possession isn't any use if you don't do anything with it. It only takes 10 min of creative possession to score 3 goals. Better to lose possession trying to be creative than keep it and do f***all.

not a new tactic, this is angeball. He is very good at managing fitness levels of players and often makes subs at 60, 75, 80 minutes to bring on fresh legs. He takes note of players mid week play time, training efforts etc. Mid week he took off Destiny at half time and said that was always the plan, for various reasons related to his fitness and energy level. The man knows what he is about. his first job at a new club is to convince his training staff, then the players. Finally to convince the supporters that he knows what he is doing. Following an Ange team is like a rollercoaster ride. It can be bloody scary at times, gets the heart racing, but it can also be exhilarating...enjoy the ride!

Brentford was the perfect team for Spurs to play, Brentford like to pass and press. Spurs showed what happens when that style is used against them. Hence why Newcastle and Arsenal both sat deep and defended. Didn't even try to counter at times. Ange did nothing the players played like how he wanted them to play and took their chances.
