Latest HYPERIA Construction Updates! | THORPE PARK

I return to Thorpe Park and the construction site of the UK's tallest rollercoaster - Hyperia! The ride is now regularly testing and the second train has been delivered to the park. I also check out the work taking place in the rides queue line and shop and I give an update on the water splashdown effect towards the end of Hyperia's layout!

My only disappointment with this so far is the accessibility, they had a blank canvas, it would have been possible to have step free access into the station levelling out the landscaping with the station or through other means. Its all well and good saying there is a lift, they break down, they get forgotten about, they will discriminate against people, queue the social media post about waiting for parts from the contractor. I still haven't worked out what options they have for swapping the trains around without having to send the other one around first, should their be a problem with one that means it can't be sent around It's clear there is no reverse once past the switch track..

So RCDB and people out of the Industry say 3 inversions, Thorpe says 2. What is it? Cause I'd say 3: 1: Immelman, 2: Downwards barrel roll (like on Iron Gwazi and 7 others) and 3: Stall Loop. Argue with me why it is 2 please.

@@DJWezzyK Because of the angle of the track, the coaster is never completely inverted and therefore it's not an inversion. There are many rides that have non inverting loops, corkscrews etc - Google it!

Lap bars are safe100% used on many rides in world. Overbars is old not used anymore like colossus which uses them and everybody hates to get in and out big people can't ride it to silk ride in flamingo land with lapbar which is best version of colossus

There’s absolutely no chance this ride opens in less than a month. I want to feel positive and it’s definitely a step in the right direction, but the fact they’ve only just broken the height record (hell, even Stealth is 205ft, never mind the Big One), it really feels like they’ve almost done this on the absolute tightest budget possible just to say they have the tallest record and sacrificed the rest of the ride. The length of it has always been questioned but for me it’s the speed which it’s traversing that outer bank inversion. Obviously it looks unique but it does look very slow and that’s almost telling me this whole thing is kind of a gimmick. I love Mack, and I think they’re doing more to innovate than all other coaster manufacturers but looking at Hyperia and looking at the vertical launch on Voltron… it all feels a bit gimmicky. Don’t get me wrong, Voltron looks like it could easier be coaster of the year for the rest of the ride but… this height record, the push on “beyond vertical launch!” on Voltron… it feels like they’re just trying to be a bit weird, almost
