There's a grandeur and romanticism at once in most of Khatchaturian. Absolutely adore his moods. Adore him full stop!🥰💖

There are two men who I believe truly captured the very essence of Russia in music, Rachmaninoff and Khachaturian. Such beautifully powerful and dark music.

Well, You know that Khatchaturian was Armenian, but the play this was based on was Russian. And Armenia and Russia have have relatively recent closeness (18oo's onward) and this was produced during the Soviet ties, I totally understand what you were saying, I hear some of Russia in this sweetly melancholic piece.

i'd actually say Prokofiev and Shostakovich cuz Khachaturian is Armenian and rach's music doesn't sound too russian...

+Joseph Adan Khachaturian was Armenian, but his music is a Russian school! This is a typical Russian classic! I tell you a secret! Russian the world is much broader than the concept of NATIONALITY! Armenian music is quite different!
@MorzenMebs8 жыл бұрын
+alena rus Khachaturian was born in Georgia to Armenian heritage. He spent much of his life in moscow, and wrote in the russian style, but he incorporated many traditional armenian melodies into his work.
@okarus55358 жыл бұрын
Morzen Mebs You know, I don't suffer from nationalism, but I love Russia and Russian music of Khachaturian! ) I do not give out Armenian folk music for Russian folk, they are different. The influence is always there. But the Foundation of Russian classical music of Khachaturian. And yet, in Russia 200 nationalities, if we're all will be sharing on a national basis, I'm sorry, but it would be an absurdity. A lot of Armenians live in Russia. And I always respect the foreign culture and love its.

+alena rus not suffering from nationalism alena RUS...the sole fact that he worked in Moscow doesn't make him Russian...and the influence is not Russian it's the influence of classical music.. do you find any folk music elements in Chaikovsky's music? no...because his school is also influenced by German/Austrian classical music....but Russian won't stop claiming it Russian, will it?...maybe Gayaneh is a Russian girl's name or story?
