The Humble Mechanic - March 2024 - Trucks, Tanks, Jayhawks, & Immorality

I missed last month so we are going to have to make up for lost time and get serious.
I reaching out for some opinions regarding pickup trucks and engines, welding some cracks in plastic tanks, and solve all sorts of Jayhawk type mysteries.
Oh and cover the gamut on the whole immorality in the world issue.

You nailed it when you said you didn't have to apologize for speaking His truth, it's what we're all called to do, thank you for reminding us! The world is so broken but we can't fall to Satan's lies, we all need to put on the armor of truth! I had a 60 Apache! Loved it. Foolishly sold it in 1988 for 600.00. Rust free. Dumb me.

AMEN! brother. You can't go wrong by holding fast to the Way, the Truth, & the Life. We cannot compromise. To do so, as you say, opens the door for the opposition to come in, knock you down, & interrupt the relationship with the true Spirit. I thank you for holding your ground (got a foothold in the stronghold) & not saying things that are popular & what people want to hear to make them feel good about themselves. People won't change unless they are confronted with what's real, what's true, what is the standard against what all things are measured. They need to reflect on things that are good, honorable, true, & righteous but they can't do that because it interferes with the way they want to live. They either create their own standard or adopt one from others who live like them. How will they know a change is needed if their wrong way of life is always confirmed & never hear of the right way? The power is in the Word & cannot be watered down. ----- Ok, I know, I need to stop taking up so much space. You covered everything very well & there is no need for me to keep rambling. I had a '60 Apache 10 with 3 on the tree and was fleetside style. That was a great truck and I really wish I had it again with a modern 4200 straight six and trans.

Whatever truck you go with, personally I would stick with some sort of old school, carbureted, distributor’d, pre-computer engine. Something you can fix on the side of the road with a screwdriver, knucklebuster and baling wire if you need to. And as we both know, it’s hard to beat a straight 6! The older I get, the more I strive for simplicity.

I watched the referenced video. Very tempting, indeed. I do want to obtain a square-body crew cab. As I am also restoring a Corvair 180, I probably should pass on yours, as it will be too much combined work for me. But someday...

You are only repeating what the Bible has ALWAYS said! God does not change, so if it was a sin before it’s still a sin now. I tell people all the time “I didn’t write this book…”. Thanks for the Jayhawk explanation! The 60 Apache gets my vote as well.
