This is actually a Neil Diamond song. Elvis covers it so well and Neil was flattered that the King chose one of his works. In fact, Neil attended a later show and couple years later and Elvis pointed him out and asked him to come up and stage and sing with him. Neil refused but later they spoke and Neil recounts that Elvis was so kind, generous and a perfect gentleman.
