I will say, that one guy is almost onto something when he says there are children traumatized by hamsters...probably because hamsters are popular class pets, and being that they are easily stressed creatures, it usually results in a not-fun time for both the hamster and the children. Shout-out to my fourth grade class pet Nibbles, who was unknowingly pregnant when my teacher bought her and, in the week after having those babies, ate them because she was stressed about us children fawning over them 🙃 (the name was an unfortunate coincidence)
@juliamuffinmonster1838Ай бұрын
Most rodents do this! They have a different reproduction strategy that favors quantity over quality, so they also have higher rates of birth defects. If they feel threatened or think their babies are a risk of attracting predators or otherwise have low survival chances, they’re hardwired to kill them and go try to have a different litter somewhere else. Pet stores and classrooms are both bad at telling the genders of rodents and if they’re pregnant or not (which can be hard if you’re not an expert), but also are unfortunately great at triggering this response.
@ErisIsAnAbominationАй бұрын
Also the fact that they’re commonly mistaken for a “low-maintenance pet”, resulting in them not having their needs properly met and eventually dying prematurely from stress.

Oh also about the Walmart pricing thing. It's actually called Dynamic pricing, Uber is in the middle of being sued over it, and companies like Walmart and Target and Amazon have been doing it through online sales for years now. Based on the purchases you have made in the past, their algorithms will determine what they think you will be willing to pay for an item, and then assign that price to the item for you to pay. It's completely fucked, and there's a reason that Uber is being sued over it, because it's deceptive business practice. One other thing, as far as Google offering information to companies, that's literally part of their TOS. If you use any of theirs or Amazon's products, you are signing up with the knowledge that all of your information can and will be sold to third-party companies who then dispersed that information to retailers and other businesses for a price. So, they don't directly beam it into your head as an idea, but Google absolutely does charge a higher price for advertising at certain times of the day, depending on the level of traffic in that particular area, and oftentimes based on a person's browsing habits. For example, say Google has information that somebody is most active on the internet doing shopping around that 1:00 a.m. mark. This means that they would charge more for advertising around that time and for advertising to those specific customers to companies that offer things like shoes, accessories Etc. It goes for any and every app you put on your phone as well, but a lot of these places still give customers a little power in that you have to give them permission to access certain things that will give them the information they are looking for. Like, did they seriously never ask themselves why Candy Crush needs access to your microphone, contacts or phone features? My ex's game shop used to have a call center next door where telemarketers would cold call business is offering to sell them client lists, which they would obtain from Google. These lists would be complied based on what keywords the prospective customer was using most often while shopping. None of this is new, none of this is a conspiracy. I think in a way this is sort of a good thing in case people are really this ignorant and have no idea about any of this, assuming that them hearing it on this podcast will then motivate them to research more information on what these things are and what the truth is around the circumstances, but I just don't see that being the case. I see it more likely that they would believe everything Shane says at face value or, be like us and roll their eyes and smack their foreheads in disbelief over somebody being this out of touch.

They live half of their time in California and half of their time in Colorado, and I’m pretty sure the podcast is filmed in California. If those clips of strangers were filmed in California, and they really didn’t get permission to film the strangers first, then they broke California’s two way consent laws.

I work with EEG (electroencephalograms), and that is literally not how EEG works. It doesn’t reflect actual thoughts, just emotional and neural reactivity. The brain GPT thing sounds like BS to me if it’s really using EEG

I love how much of Shane's conspiracy theories are just him discovering the predatory nature of capitalism. Yeah bud. We *actual* poor people have been knowing this for our entire lives, soooooo...

30:32 i think they're using "non-invasive" in the way a surgeon would, where the thing can be done without opening you up. couldn't tell you why that got stuck in my craw enough to comment, love the video 💚

This is why you need a real-time researcher on lame exaggerator-guy podcasts like this. Biologists have put wheels in the field and recorded wild hamsters visiting them to run for hours. 1. Not cloned or bots or whatever, 2. Not charged by wheels. It’s just behavioral. They’re also burrowing prey animals so no, you don’t usually see them. He’s bullshitting on purpose to be… funny? Cute? It’s not working and they’re all coming across as annoying and dumb with this shtick.

Shane should absolutely NOT take a marketing course. His very next video would be "I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THEY'RE USING MIND CONTROL TO MAKE YOU BUY THINGS!!!"
