My Grandfather was cuaght by the Nazis...while trying to help 3 American shoulders on the island of Pag. All four were caught. 2.5 years in a camp...impossible to survive..yet he did. The naval ship that my garndfather was serving on was blown up and sunk. He came back skin and bones....mainly bones but survived. Amen ...

Jer 6:19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it. 1Sa 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

I am a Christian trying to understand judaism. Love your teachings. My question is that where is free will, when God micro manages every aspect of our life. It would be great if you add some lecture about free will when you are teaching about micro management.

Why were the children of Israel in Egypt? Then later why did they become slaves? Then why were the firstborn of Egypt mercilessly slain? Why after that would the Jews still hold a grudge against Egypt for more than four thousand years? There are a lot of questions. My own family has a lot of questions but I digress.

The book of Job is the answer. Only God is good. The Fall in the Garden of Eden resulted in ( spiritual and litteral ) death. The Knowledge of Good and Evil separated us from His Divine Purpose of Eternity with Him. His Plan to reunite us with Him is an amazing Love story. The Truth shall set you Free.

We come to earth to become angels in training! We need training, which means to learn to surrender and then love for God. So, turning to our great tragedies, (the holocaust, etc.) one must resolve the answer with the soul needing these things. And, then one must ask the question: does God allow injustice? does he allow things to happen without cause and effect? do these things apply to our tragedies? If so, then the answers must resolve in the concept of some sort of reincarnation. Which was a part of Judaism during the time of the Sadducees and Pharisees.
@dellasmom8 жыл бұрын
+Marc Herlands Dear Sir,You are mistaken about us being angels in training. There are several passages in the Bible that will help sort out this misconception. The passage that is translated in the King James Bible that says, "created a little lower than the angels' is actually "a little lower than Elohim", which is one of the Hebrew Names of God. But those translators were working with what (at the time) was a dead language, and so could be forgiven for a few missteps. As I understand it, the English word angel, in Hebrew means "messenger". Also there is a passage in the New Testament that states that angels are ministering spirits sent to minister on behalf of the heirs of salvation (Christians), and so it would be a demotion for us to "graduate" to become angels, as they are here to be helpers and serve us as Christians. And as to reincarnation, the Bible says "it is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment". And lastly, God gave man a free will in the garden, and that free will still functions in each of us today. All of the human tragedies throughout the course of history, both small and large have been the result of one or more of us humans using that free will to make the wrong choice that has a small effect, maybe just personally, like a drug overdose, or a massive effect, as in 911, the holocaust, WWII, human trafficking, genetically modifying our food supply, etc. God never interferes with our right to make choices, either good or bad. It is up to us to take responsibility for those choices.

But how does this explain suffering on mass??
@dellasmom8 жыл бұрын
For a long time the answer to this question seemed nearly impossible for me to come to grips with in a way that would satisfy my own mind. Then I heard a man who I admire and trust greatly doing a teaching session along these lines and he gave an answer that is SO simple and straight forward, and yet runs deep enough to cover all of the problems I initially had with that question. Here it is: Bad things happen to good people because good people make bad choices. I know that sounds simplistic, and upon reflection, there is another part to that answer which needs consideration. Bad things happen to good people because there is a devil who HATES everything God has created, (and who has the authority that people give him) but most of all, he hates man. And satan's sole mission is to steal, kill and destroy God's most beloved creation, man, in any way he can. But even then it is up to the person or persons to follow satan's lead and choose to take the wrong road, (as anyone can refuse to let him influence them) so I guess it really does just boil down to choice.

Why do bad things happen to "good" people? Who is "good"? "Good" by who's standard? Couldn't be God's standard of good. The bible says "The righteousness of Man is as filthy rags before the Lord." (Isaiah 64:6). I heard that the actual translation of "filthy rag" in this passage is translated from "Menstrual cloth". Something so natural. So human. Still, so filthy... So, the righteousness of Man is like shit on toilet-paper before God.

i enjoy listening to the teaching you offer, i do have many problems that i have to overcome. when i see all the suffering in the world i often ask why. i then come to realize that we bring a lot of this upon ourselves by mainly trusting corporations to make sure we receive the proper food and that it hasn't been contaminated in any way, and trusting corporations in providing us with vaccinations, and trusting corporations to bring us chemo to make us better and trusting corporations to set policy and laws over us, we are under a corporate governance, and they have no interest in your well being, they bring us into wars killing innocent people in our name, we should have had some hangings here in this country. i see people in hospitals that are given synthetic drugs suffering needlessly when natural drugs could greatly benefit them, all for the sake of patentable drugs and corporate interests. i think about when moses asked GOD ,what should be done to the man caught collecting wood on the sabbath? GOD told moses to stone him to death. i have come to the realization that asking GOD for justice can be deadly thank GOD for YESHUA. and thank you for your promoting torah.

I believe, God stands at the door way of time, so "the beginning & the end are in God's hands;God says "I am the one who is, who always was, & who is still to come-Alpha and the Omega". Doors are good, because it brings challenge, something hidden waiting to be opened, unsealed, broken, revealed. The one door I wait for as a christian, is the seventh door in Israel to be opened. Because on that day will be pain, but also joy. both come together. And In my own time soon, I will also face pain, I like pain, because it will allow me to let go, to grow, & bringing brake through. Some can grow without pain, but with pain, challenge, you grow in everything, Trust, Love, loyalty,desire, purity, endurance, patience,obedience,peace, goodness, humbleness, thanksgiving, all flow together in unity of love fruitfulness. When your put to the test, the challenge will brake you or form you, or brake you, then form you, all who seek to be like God, & Christ will find a change, that they have to fight for to keep, stability, preserved, perseverance. Chaos flows down but harmony also flow down to bring balance, & flow is flow. The stories not done, but it's coming, & then it will be here. & there will be comfort & regret. God will always show love to Israel. Because people of Israel are like the very branches to the tree of God, & God will always keep them close, holding them up in love & when discipline comes, God will draw you closer, because God is God, mighty to save through Salvation Lord of Lords & King Of Kings. But first the false messiah will come, but it's part of the plan.

+Anke Marais It is my own opinion that the rabbinic commentaries have some keen insight and wisdom to offer both Jews and Christians, but that it must be always viewed through the filter of the Bible. God can speak through anyone, at any time, and so we shouldn't "throw the baby out with the bath water", so to speak.
