We certainly do learn from mistakes. But...you can only teach yourself to keep your own hand from the fire, others must learn it for themselves, and some never do. The bad things that happen to us are not always a cause of something that we personally did wrong. Some days it’s very much as if someone else had hold of our arm and is forcibly holding in the fire. The bad things that happen do not always have a good reason. Sometimes it’s simply a matter of hateful, evil, selfish people trying to force their misery and darkness onto others. There’s precious little we can do about those moments and I still haven’t learned how to avoid them. Seems like it’s less of an actual lesson, and more of a test in perseverance. I wish I had the answers. But thank you once again for your words of wisdom, John. ❤️

I've just discovered this series of videos and this wonderful man in the past few days. And everything he says is true, everything he's talking about I have learned in my own life. I'm basically finishing his sentences for him lol. I wish the same type of blessing upon every human being. If only people understood these things earlier in life, because the truth is the most valuable lessons in life actually come from adversity. I am so grateful that you have given this series to people to learn from and to gain further inspiration. ❤️💕🙏

He feels so comforting, like asking my grandpa to tell me a story and life lesson.

When this great soul starts talking I can't even concentrate. All I can do is cry. I feel like I'm hearing and seeing God...

Isn't it funny how there's thousands of ASMR KZbin channels but none of their voices even come close to sounding as good as John's, and he's not even trying. Lift your damn game, KZbinrs!
All this dude is good at is avoiding the question and talking nonsense.

Not at all ! You’re just too small minded to understand what he is saying

@@Zach_Black you’ve just proved my point you think having a degree in science means you’re not small minded ! In fact thinking that in itself is what makes you small minded

@@Zach_Black being small minded is thinking a degree means everything and to not be open to other possibilities ! The world is more than just science, with every comment you make you’re just proving how small minded you really are

Romans 3: 10-18 As it is written “There is no one just, not one, there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God. All have gone astray; all alike are worthless, there is not one who does good, (there is not) even one. Their throats are open graves; they deceive with their tongues; the venom of asp is on their lips; their mouths are full of bitter cursing. Their feet are quick to shed blood; ruin and misery are in their ways, and the way of peace they know not. There is no fear of God before their eyes”

I clicked on this today because today Kobey Bryant and 8 other people died in a plane crash, and I can't get their families out of my mind, especially his wife. In one moment, his wife lost her husband and child. And now she must bear this loss along with her three other children who in their young lives must mourn the loss of their sister and father. And I wonder how will she manage? The world's support may help her a little, but ultimately she must carry this alone, where a piece of her heart has already died and she will never be the same again. So I'm watching this hoping to understand how would someone in her shoes even begin to face her own fate, and I hope that our prayers can somehow help her, her children, and the other families who must live through this loss. May the Lord keep them all in His eternal grace and peace.

I spent a lot of time in a church as a kid. I’m not religious myself, but my grandma was, and she used to help out at the church a lot. I remember a lot of the people there were just like this man, always so interesting relaxed and wise. The fact that he’s in a church made me think about that, and it evokes some good memories (:

I think sometimes because people are too nice. Yes, indeed, there is such a thing as being too kind, excessively polite, or always trying to do the right thing. This should not be confused with turning sour, greedy, or just downright evil. Irrespective of your religion, you need to balance out things in life. Sometimes we need to be rude, shout out loud.
