I wasn’t aware of a “sugar tax” in South Africa, u mentioned in this video. But that could explain why there are sugar substitutes in several drinks I saw in South Africa. Even in non-diet drinks. Beware! Most sugar substitutes are not healthy for u either. Health wise, you’re better off buying natural squeezed juices (some of the markets like Checkers, sells their own freshly squeezed orange juice) then decreasing the sugar content yourself by diluting the juice with water or ice.

Yes. This is true I avoid sugar substitutes

Some of the cereals that have high sugar, like Fruit Loops, are imported. Hence the high prices.

Some of the drink provide different types of substitute eg. Coca Cola offered drinks with reduced sugar, sugar free, sugar substituted with Stevia etc. so you as a customer get to choose

That's why I may travel a lot and return right back home. There is no place like home. You don't realise this until you leave the country.

I can send money in an ATM and the next person can collect it without using a bank card in the ATM just a code, or you can collect in a supermarket.

All the things you mentioned are possible because the average South African is well educated in an education system that is very disciplined and values discipline from a young age

You should see how easy it is to lodge an insurance claim with my insurer, which is very popular here. No messing around, tow truck or handyman in minutes to assist you. Everything done online and with one phone call!

Another situation i miss about SA is the medical sector! How our specialists are linked to private hospitals with all the necessary resources to easily run you through a process from start to finish is so crucial. Its so wild here in US that you’ll be in pain, go to a specialist and they tell you need to go book elsewhere for a simple scan/draw blood specimen/samples where you’ll have to make another appointment and thats also based on availability. They give you no medication whatsoever while you wait for all these things and you’ll wait a full month for that scan appointment! Your damn body will even heal itself 💯 How everything is so disjointed makes zero sense! They can do better honestly… Ooh you also wash your own car at the carwash! I wanted to cry😂😂

It helps to live in other countries, or even travel. We have lived in two other countries but we always long for home. We are back home in Pretoria. We do not want to move anywhere else. Working remotely has been a game changer.
