It is just me, or this video just came in on my recommendation after I finished watching Twilight of the Gods. And yes, I have tons of serious questions about the Norse lore.
@anythingyoucando1546Ай бұрын
I have an idea. Will you track down the source of the connection between (butterfly/moth), dreams, and poison? I have seen several Japanese (and similar) references. It feels like there is a story and historic connection.

Most stories about Loki tend to follow a pattern, something causes trouble for the gods, usually caused by Loki and he cleans up the mess with a mix of cunning, trickery, slap-stick, and the odd pregnancy; essentially Loki is the Chaotic Neutral Bard of the party, 'I F**k us into this situation, I will F**k us out of it.'

using clips from zack snyders Twilight of The Gods will be amazing too, Lokis kids Jörmungandr, Fenrir and Hel are frequently shown in each episode...the show views thee abduction of fenrir because of the prophecy
@lordnul1708Ай бұрын
Yeah, the ironic part is that a decent chunk forget that the Aesir were kinda pricks in the Eddas. And even when it comes to Ragnarok, they were far from victims seeing how they kinda directly caused the situations leading to Loki's children taking the roles that they had in Ragnarok by way of: -Throwing Jormangondr off of Yggdrasil resulting in his size -putting Hel in charge of Helheim (although from what I heard she might not have been that bad a ruler if not for how the Norse viewed things). -misleading, binding and betraying Fenrir -Sleipnir being ridden by his uncle into battle (Odin and Loki were "blood brothers" in the Eddas). The beat treated out of all of them was essentially Odin's warhorse.

I thought the name of the horse was familiar. Failure Frame's mc named his horse Slei, after Sleipnir

For those who are "new" to Myths. The Prose Edda is for your Logical Brain. The Poetic Edda is for your Intuitive Brain. They _intentionally_ conflict and have contradictions between the two. Are you the one who can understand why? It is directly related to the Why of Loki. (It is by design)

I’m still confused, though. I know now that Loki’s Aesir sons Narfi and Vali were truly malevolent when the end of the world came to pass but which of his children are worse off than the others or had it worse? He had seven I think. Hel got the long end of the stick in my opinion: Odin gave her dominion of the underworld and she wasn’t too mad about that, one might even say she fit the role perfectly and was fine with it. Fenrir was tied to a tree until Ragnarok and really tore it up when Ragnarok came. Loki gave birth to an eight-legged horse named Sleipnir while in mare form. Loki didn’t want anything to do with Sleipnir and he became Orin’s favorite steed, having Odin ride him all over the cosmos. I think Sleipnir got the short end of the stick to be frank

The channel "Norse Magic and Beliefs"(I think he's a pagan, too) gave a story in one of his hour long videos just in the middle of it, and he reluctantly told about a story of a norse village since he was talking about the village anyway. There was a nearby Christian village and they were having a spat about the highest God and they wanted to run a trial. They would each put a statue of their God on each of opposing hills, and would give it a week. So odin statue vs Jesus staue. Over the weekend the odin statue was pushed over and the head fell off, Jesus statue wad still standing and the norse just grumbled about it. Even the channel "Norse Magic and Beliefs" lol cope harder
