Halo control with a half-edge mask :-) TK keeps getting better and better! Thanks for the *really useful* demos!

Always enjoy the Friday edits and this week's is no exception. Particularly enjoyed the change from you normal methods and the half edge mask was great. Look forward to using that one.

Another great edit using some new methods. When you started the edit the first thing I noticed was the halo between the sky and foreground. As I watched your edit I wasn't sure you were aware of it, but of course I was wrong and thankfully your last step addressed that.

Hi David, Thank you so much for your clear and helpful tutorials!
@samelogio7441Ай бұрын
Thanks Dave. Another great lesson. I liked how you got rid of the halos. I also like that you changed the edits up this week. It is always nice to learn new tricks. In this example, I don't see the need to start out in LR. I would go to PS with the RAW image and it will automatically open ACR which can do everything that LR can do. You could even choose to save the edits out as a smart object from ACR. That removes one extra step.

hi Dave. is it possible to give us a tutorial of a wildlife editing. like a high key/low key photo workflow of a lion, elephants or whatever. like Klaus Tiedge style or Peter Delaney style. thanks

Thanks for another great and innovative TK Friday edit. Love the different approach and after using it on your sample image will try it on one of my own. One question. We spent two weeks creating actions, one of which was 'Subtract the Sky'. Rather than using the three or four step method to remove the sky why not us the action? Much simpler and quicker. Otherwise, plenty to think about.

Hi Dave, could I ask you for some more information on how you would sharpen this or any other photo at the end? How to sharpen it for print and how to sharpen it for the web?
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly13 күн бұрын
I would use Topaz Photo Ai for sharpening for print. I would use the Web Sharpening found in the TK9 Combo or CX panel for web sharpening.

Great tips. Very helpful. I am using latest version of PS but do not have adaptive profile showing. Also with the tansform tool, I need to use the shift to enlarge the moon without distorting it. If I use the alt key it distorts the moon.
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekellyАй бұрын
The reason you don't see the adaptive profile with the downloaded image is because it is a TIFF file. The Adaptive Profile only shows up with RAW files. The image you downloaded was a TIFF file that was already adjusted from the RAW file. Transform Tool issue: In order for your transform tool to work the way mine did in the video: Click on the Transform button on the TK Combo or CX Panel and then go up to the Photoshop Tool Menu and click on the button that looks like a (chain link). This button allows for the transform tool to maintain aspect ratio. Once you click on that link, you should be good.
@wismokeyАй бұрын
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly Thanks. I missed that you already applied the profile in RAW before converting to the TIFF. As for the transform tool, I just use shift to maintain the aspect ratio.

HI Dave, PDF notes stops after step 8 (increase of the moon).

Thanks for pointing that out. I see what I did wrong. Please download the notes again, and you should have the complete set. My apologies, Christian.

Very nice edit Dave, showcasing really well the benefit, utility and effectiveness of creating Brightness-Contrast Blend If Targeted Zones. I would really like a similar one-click TK9 feature which would produce Color Grading Blend If Targeted Zone1 to Zone 5 layers.

Hi, there is already an action for this made by Dave Tillet. You find it in a subfolder of the TK9-3 Package. /Documents an Ressources/TK9 example actions For more advice look in the PDF of David Tillet. Sry, had to correct my before post, made a failure not remember exactly, what David Tillet had already prepared for us. The action is named "Zone Colour Grading"

Hi Dave, Tk Friday on Black Friday. And again another creative approach using more deep some of the new TK9-3 features. I have a question, what are your criteria for choosing e.g., when the Linear Profile, when Adobe Landscape or today the new Adobe AI Profile? Just finished the edit with the latter, it works fine. The more I'm interested in how to make this first decision. Thank you very much, as always a great edit.❤ Wish you and all the TK community a nice weekend, Daniel.

I’m trying Adaptive Profiles for the first time. I chose this image because it had a dark foreground and a well-exposed sky, and I was pleased with the result. I’ll keep experimenting, but these types of images are good candidates.
@TheGregodacaАй бұрын
Thanks Dave for this edit. But ... I do not have this "adobe adaptive profile" in the profile list. Any suggestion why ?
@branchauАй бұрын
Like you, this profile is not shown in my Photoshop. So far as I know, this feature is only available in the Beta version of Photoshop at this time.
@danielchaskel2838Ай бұрын
Hi this is not in PS Beta, but in Camera raw 17.01. and until now not in LR yet. Look in Daves Video, in the beginning, how he makes it with a little hack, open in LR, then as an object to PS, then open in CR. But Dave gives us the prepared .tif File. For trying take one of your Raws and open it in CR.
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekellyАй бұрын
You're welcome. The Adaptive Profile BETA can only be applied to RAW files. It's already applied to the TIFF download, so it's ready to process.

Good day, I did the editing as you did in the video on the picture I downloaded. The result is beautiful but I do notice that the file size is huge. After editing it is no less than over 2 GB that way my photo collection is quickly too large for the available diskspace. It seems unlikely to me that I could edit all the photos that way, or do you flatten them yourself at the end ? Geetings from The Netherlands, Jaap
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekellyАй бұрын
If you are concerned about file size and are happy with an edit, you can certainly flatten the image. I would wait a bit and come back to the edit just to make sure you are happy before flattening.
