this is so great, a lot of small subtle steps, and in the end a huge transformation. The new features or changes in the handling of familiar function have a bit of a learning curve. So, Dave a couple of my actions don't work. B and C Landscape/ B and C subject/None of the Intersects/ B and C Landscape Blend if/ B and C subject Blend if. I will contact Tony and also try a reload. Any other suggestions?

Cindy make sure you are not running the Actions from the "TK My Actions Panel or Panels". They will only work if you run them from "Photoshop Actions". This has nothing to do with TK9, it is a Photoshop issue, which hopefully will get corrected in the near future. I think this will resolve you problem.

Cindy, it sounds like you are running TK9 in a language other than English, TK9 translates the channels saved by Select Sky etc to current language, so not found by the standard actions. There are versions of the standard B and C actions that work in other languages, and language spectific versions of Intersect Selection in the extra TK9 Actions Non-English action set in the same download folder as the main actions. The other Intersect commands will work after running a non-English B and C action. There is also a Standard English Channels action that creates the Sky, Foreground etc. channels with English names. If you run this first then all the standard actions, including the Blend If B and C actions, should then work. It is the Cx panel that needs to be in English, actions written using this. If you have this set to English then it is possible that the language file has got corrupted in someway. Try changing to another language and then back to English which should reset the language file.

@@cindysmith6842 You have installed the Cx panel haven’t you? Doesn’t have to be in workspace but needs to be installed. The B and C actions use mask calculator from Cx so if that is not installed that would explain why those actions fail but others work. Only problems reported with actions have been down to no Cx, language or Close Panels action missing.

@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly No, from the actions panel in Photoshop I selected B and C Landscape and after clicking on the play button got the error message. I have reloaded the two actions and restarted Photoshop but that hasn’t worked so far. Thank you so much for your quick response. I am a big fan of TK Friday.

@@juasanbo1 There are 2 different Action Sets (TK9 Actions and TK9 Actions Non-English) it is important to load the right set for your location.

Great as usual. You are helping me to master the TK9 panel. Question: when do use use the clear v. 50% gray layers for D+Bing

Thank you. When using the Blend If feature for dodging and burning, the transparent pixel layer allows you to see the areas you’ve painted when you use the overlay double arrow button. This layer is also useful for making a selection of the dodged or burned areas by Command/CTRL-clicking on the pixel layer. You can then use this selection to add a mask to a new adjustment layer, targeting the areas you just worked on. On the other hand, the 50% gray layer helps you see more clearly the areas you’ve dodged or burned. If you apply Blend If to this layer and click on the overlay double arrow button, you’ll see the targeted areas but not the painted ones. This is useful because it shows you the areas that will be affected when you paint on them.
