Good video and I’ve just added my second Google WiFi node. Quick update, it’s worth setting up additional node devices using the Google Home app as it will update the entire system to Google’s new Nest Ecosystem and allow you to upgrade the security of Google WiFi v1 access points to WPA3 😀

Today I’ve installed Google Wi Fi. I had a bit of trouble so I called Google with the phone number at the back of the nodes. WOWWWWW, SUPER SRVICE. The technician stayed on line with me until all the three nodes where configured and workin properly. As for the speed it’s truly amazing, I can’t believe it.

Just picked this up. It’s chingon! I have a 3 story house and put one in every level. I’m getting a solid and consistent 110 download and 12 up. The set up is so easy.

Watching these types of videos has been useful to me. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, and for the most part the living room, and kitchen are all open, and it's mainly just the bedroom and bathroom that have walls for the signal to really go through. Currently I have the Airport Extreme 2013 model, and a Nighthawk R7000 router, and both give good overall coverage plus coverage a short distance outside as well. I had been considering a Mesh setup, however, people didn't think it would offer any benefit for one person in the smaller environment. I initially got the R7000, because I was concerned about apple's future support for the airport software updates, After using it for several months i was overall happy with it, but after seeing Apple had released an airport firmware update in May for my model, I went back to the airport as it's my overall favorite. Will keep the Netgear around in case the airport dies. If there are better options at that point, will look into it then.

Google WiFi is a must have! Seriously I live in a house with inner brick walls that was built in 1915 and I couldn’t get signals in 2 rooms and now I have complete 300mbps speeds in every single room including the basement and the damn signals reach one entire NYC street block!!! That’s insane.

This is a router and extenders. The software interface and tools seem like the selling point here, which is great. But make no mistake, this is a router and extenders.

But could you clear about 1,- What is the coverage radius with this mesh system? 2,- You said one device performs as main router and the others as satellite devices, but can those devices be set on cascade to get a big coverage radius? 3.- Can we have separated 2.4 and 5Ghz Band's?

I might have to disagree with you on that especially if you’re using moca network.. ActionTec might be be little cheaper and you can keep your same network name and keep your same speed Internet cable

I don't believe it will make much of a difference, if any. They are designed to output equally as powerful as the mother.

So with my isp hub, I place the mesh hub right next to it via lan, to get this to work. Seems a waist. Why can’t it mesh with the isp’s hub and I can place the mesh hub elsewhere. Mesh with another hub effectively

Yes you can! I have mine completely wireless and it works exactly the same, but I’ve tried hardwiring them all together before placing them far from each other.

No It would probably be easier to flip your existing router into an extender. The puck wouldn’t be able to receive a wireless protocol from non-Google hardware. The only way to do what you’re trying to accomplish is with Ethernet back hauling or spending money on more hardware that can bridge/extend/repeat the original signal. If space isn’t a concern, you can catch the OnHub on sale these days at $59.99 ea. That way you’re still in the Google ecosystem with a legit mesh network.
