The cat seemed to find it relaxing too.

How I wish I knew someone who could pick up the pipes so casually. I'd make them endless cups of tea (or wine) to play continually.

That’s a lovely tune Katherine, thanks! Really like the tone on your pipes, I imagine the fingering is similar to the Irish whistle.

It's actually the last day of July, today... Nice tune, though and it's always nice to see a long-suffering cat standing by its owner.

@@TheKathrynTickell I was sort of deeply aware, because the last day of July was always my Dad's birthday and this is the first time since 1921 that it isn't. He was always a cat-lover and he was of a large-enough frame for all five of his cats (mostly Devon Rexes) to sit on him at once, some on the shoulders rather than the lap or knees.

Ah, cats... My wife was owned by a Maine Coon cat when I met her. When I practiced on an Eb tin whistle, he used to stomp out of the living room to the end of the hall, sit with his back to me, and turn and glare when I hit a high note. On the other hand, he absolutely loved Matt Molloy's wooden flute. He was sleeping on the couch one day when I put on a Chieftains album, and when Matt Molloy started playing a solo, the cat woke up and looked around for the source of the music, then watched the speaker and listened to the whole tune. After that tune finished, he settled back to sleep. Obviously, I had picked up the wrong instrument! :)

My cat has a strange taste for Mongolian overtone singing. I try to do a little bit of it for fun, and every time, he would walk towards me, sit, stare at me then mew. Maybe it gives him some hearing resonances humans can't perceive.
@bonnies.d.11215 жыл бұрын
@@PhebusdesTours Are they not amazing individuals? My little black cat, years ago, used to go sideways, arch-backed, tail straight up, and circle me whenever I would do a long, high hiss. Very funny, never seen the like of it since. (Hope to see her again in heaven!)
@N1inSK5 жыл бұрын
@@PhebusdesTours That is pure awesome! But maybe he was asking you to stop. :) I love throat singing, but haven't a hope of trying it myself.

Because he is a Bonny Cat 🌞. I still have , and use, my Volume 1 Tune Book, the first tune book I ever bought, at Loughborough Festival in 1969, for my English concertina .......and a year later, thanks to Ray Fisher, my Bill Hedworth 9 key set. I should have worked harder at Lugoboro, but that's an obvious story 🤗
