I don’t know the kind of person I’d be without Toriyama’s work and influence. His Manga and anime practically raised me from elementary school to all the way in college. I remember coming home from after school and watching Dragonball on Toonami and witnessing Goku literally beating the shit out of Frieza, and instantly being hooked ever since. I begged my mom to get the original Budokai game, and spending the whole day beating it, and then replaying it. I remember the first time watching Gohan surpass his father and defeating cell, and always thought it was the most epic thing middle school me ever seen. I remember being a freshman in Art school and seeing Dragonball Super and being so hyped that my favorite series coming back. I remember going to the movie theater on opening night in NYC and Watching Dragonball Super: Broly and hearing so many fans like myself cheering and shouting throughout the whole picture, that night will always stick with me. Akira Toriyama literally changed the game, and touched so many lives. Without him, there’d be no One Piece, no Naruto, no Bleach, no MHA, no Black Clover. His body of work is without a doubt one of the biggest and most influential pieces of media in our generation. To leave us at 68 yrs feels unfair and utterly devastating, but his creations and the impact he has left on the world ironically will always make him immortal. Rest In Peace Toriyama San…

I’ll turn 37 next month and still hyped by that opening. Watching this in the 1990’s always left me stunned. Now that I’m coming close to my 40’s, the message I get from Dragon Ball is to keep a pure heart. Corruption is always a weakness. And it’s not surprising the most powerful and stronger hero of all time is actually also the most innocent and kind.

Perhaps the best anime opening of all time... the feeling in the singer's voice, the instruments and 80's synthesizer, the sound effects, the lyrics, the visuals in synchrony with the song, the emotion in the character's facial expressions, the poetic imagery, the iconicness of every single second... this opening wasn't made, it was sculpted! This was actually the first anime opening i've ever watched as a kid, i vividly remember seeing the force of nature of the ice melting and the veins, i was instantly mesmesrized!
@bloodlineoriginal8872 Жыл бұрын
You described it well. In France we had an alternative opening, but in 1994 I bought the Bojak movie in VHS and discovered the Japanese opening for the first time. It was pure hype and power in the house with my cousin. Now 30 years later I’m still stunned by that opening. There is a soul in that video. It’s a piece of art.
@FlydingVent9296 Жыл бұрын
@@bloodlineoriginal8872 That's amazing, i remember my young cousin feeling hyped by one of the openings, i wonder why they feel like they have to give an alternative to such a masterpiece, in Brazil they kept this opening and dubbed the song with a singer who's voice sounds a bit like the brazilian voice actor of Goku, and also they made the narrator say the title singing in the beginning of the opening, which is just so awesome, but one down side is that they didn't add the "Sparking!" line, i only found out about that much later, but like you said, this opening is just pure power!
