11 years ago a local TV station I worked at went under and the biggest sign was, people would leave a job and that job wasn't posted. By the time it became almost unsustainable to operate they had a company meeting to tell everyone they were laid off. To their credit they gave a pretty good severance package which was nice of them.

Given the supply chain challenges across multiple industries, seeing 2 or more of these warning signs is going to become common.

Why do people keep saying “foreseeable future”? Someone coined it about 3 y ago and the whole country started using it. Come on people- Time to come up with our own words and be original.

When HR has as much power (or more) than any other department. HR is about trying to treat everybody equally and 'being fair.' But what is fair isn't always right and vice versa. And that means a department that has no clue about what's best for the company financially is overriding decisions made by departments that are in charge of making the best financial decisions for the company. The company may not be failing at the moment, but in due time it will.

The job report doesn't mean a thing unless a good portion are NEW positions, not positions that they have to fill because they had ended a contract with temp employee(s) or their employees quit.

Ken thank you for your insight but the real reason for inflation is all the money printing and government spending not the higher wages with inflation the average worker has taken a pay cut these companies are getting cash from the taxpayers so when higher wages are given it is a small boost to help the workers keep up with inflation

The number one cause of inflation is deflation of the USD through excessive government spending, QE, and artificial economic stimulation through the handing out of free money. Not wage inflation, wage inflation is due to excessive liquidity in the market
