When a person can transmit a feeling or an emotion through an instrument and can reach your inner self making you vibrate, get excited or simply make your skin crawl when you listen to it, then the wonderful word called ART has been created... and that is what Don Paco Lucía has done and left us as a legacy, art in its purest form and being able to move us with his hands transmitting the notes of feelings. He makes the guitar make "QUEJÍOS" come from the heart. "Quejío" is the expression used in Andalusia to name the feeling that comes from the deepest part of your being expressed in song.

Te llena el alma verdaderamente, un artista. Las cuerdas formaban parte de su cuerpo, la guitarra era una extensión de si mismo, no solo físicamente.

For my taste, this song is one of Paco's most beautiful compositions, due to its technical difficulty and its harmonic and rhythmic dynamism. The dive of his right hand in this execution is absolute madness!!!!, he executes it by going down with two fingers and going up with three fingers of his right hand in such a dizzying way!!
@TheKillogicEffectАй бұрын
Yeah there is so much going on its hard to really explain it without starting to sound like a madman...lol.. The harmonies, melodies and time changes are off the charts and he makes it all seem so effortless! The amount of picking techniques could be a video on its own! Truly magical without a doubt!

La limpieza de Paco con las cuerdas era admirable, no por la precisión exquisita sino por la limpieza y la carencia de ruiditos extraños que toda cuerda hace.

Yet another fantastic live performance by Paco. JM Canizares is a fantastic guitarist in his own right as well. Just a wonderful example of harmonic and rhythmic complexity. Thanks for the reaction! In this same show, as I believe you know, there are also some great Falla pieces played by Paco, Canizares and JM Banderas. Really a great show to select pieces from. Happy Holidays!

Great! And J.M.Cañizares on the second guitar! a fine representative of the generation that grew inspired by Paco. This piece is a "colombiana",a flamenco genre which like "guajira" o "garrotín" soak into caribbean waters.You can tell by its special rythm.I like specially the studio version of this one with the electric bass of Carles Benavent teaming with Paco´s guitar. Merry Xmas!!!

Hallo, How you doing, I have come across your Channel, because your reactions to Paco de Lucia, whom I have always Known, as I grew up, listening to his Art. He is considered the best guitarist of any style in Known history. He comes from Algeciras, a port City, Not far from the southernmost Point of Europe, just over 14 Kilometers from Africa. His father taught him to play the guitar with his two Brothers, by ear. Paco de Lucia learned to play the guitar before reading and writing, since when he was Young, he was iliterate, like many of his peers. Over time he learned to read, write and read music, constantly Improvisation, until he became the musical monster we Know. The second best in this world (for me), is Manolo Sanlucar. There is a work, with Name „Paco de Lucia y Manolo Sanlucar“ Hand in Hand through Sevillanas. Bye

The tuning you are asking about in flamenco is the frigius mode... that is why they modify the length of the guitar strings
@TheKillogicEffect4 күн бұрын
Ah yes I recall learning about it in music theory I learned about as the Phrygian Scale or mode! Now that answers several other questions I had ...lol Thank you for the info I really appreciate it!

The original was recorded as a duet with a bass guitar. So I think Juan Manuel Canizares had to really retune his guitar to play that part here.
