The troops were too tight, losing even a couple of troops on the ones before hitting green's capital could have been the difference between a cap run and a game throw. It's true random after all.

I would agree. Killing green could be done first regardless, and shows a little bit of extra good faith to blue, but blue gets second anyway.

Pete not realising because he is so good that capping in corners give players who are newer capping in corners keeps tgem out of the way of better & more aggresdive players meaning they get a 2-3rd place instead of 4-6th so for a newer player it is the optimal strategy as they learn the game.

(Been thinking about fixed caps tourney settings; I figure we either favor spawn dependent settings over stalematey ones (lesser of two evils), or if we do an “assassin’s style” version, where you don’t need to kill your target, just take his cap; would be silly and fun lol )

How do you score it given a lot of the games (not all) will stalemate?

@@TheKillPeteStrategy if assassin style, than just 3 games a round with only winners moving on (kinda ripping off that tourney but just with fixed caps lol); if not, then there would need to be some kind of stalemate rule, or jack up the points on bounties to get action (I still have plenty of thinking to do, and really just started playing tourneys these last few months; kpo2 was my first one)

Nice win! Question, why did you not try to open greens cap the turn before you did the cap run? It seemed to me that opening his cap to go into the orient was the route to take. He goes after you in turn order, he can only go into blue in a meaningful way, and if he tries to take orient back he burns a bunch of troops. The only thing I can think of is that you potentially make an enemy of blue, but in the same way, there wasn't much he could do to you at that point.

Just some critique on your play if you are interested. Green broke your bonus when you were leading troop generation in the early game by a factor of ~2 with 3 capitals. That was reasonable, you over extended. You retaliated heavily and continuously while keeping a light guard on your bonuses. Of course green will attack you. That is the main reason you were disadvantaged going into the endgame.

Also it wasn't unreasonable as green taking the +3 africa bonus equalized both of them. And breaking the dynaric alps caused green to be at a +4 advantage. Sure he was a turn behind, but instead of breaking he could have focused on expanding faster instead.

what an ending!!! FYI I looked for the dice roll odds for the caps in the end as you attacked too fast to see them on screen, the first roll was a 74.8%, second was a 74.1%, and third was 90%, which means your odds of winning all three are 49.88%, so a coin toss pretty much lol, well played!!

Spoilers underneath - - - - - - - Slightly confused on your Cap run set up stacks - the unexperienced me would have gone 35 (34v14cap) 13+90 (12blitz 45cap 90v remainder on cap) 74 (expecting 46v20) Your odds (if this calculator is correct) 39v14 = 91% 89v45 = 74% 44v20 = 78%. 53% chance omg thats lower than I thought Mine 34v14 = 83% 89v41* = 85% 49'v20 = 87% 61% (if *the 12 removes 4 and `I get the same dice up to the cap) Just a wanted to see the math, honestly knowing the numbers I'd probably do it your way incase the 69 stack failed

@@nathanhull8302 no he didn’t, he knew to be a good neighbour, which in my opinion is simply common sense, not a “Risk thing” and people that are bad neighbours are simply stupid, but he didn’t understand when was the time to hit Pete. There was a point when he had more troops than his two opponents combined and they were also fighting with each other. If he had hit Pete at that point there would have just been nothing he could have done and he would have secured victory.
