Something that confuses me in the logic of Pete in "pseudo blizzard" situations has often been a matter of numbers. Hitting 10 red troops for Europe would have been so much cheaper (albeit giving your opponent a less contested position sure) than fighting yourself into the weakest stack against purple. I would be curious to know what his thoughts are on just taking the hit against red a bit earlier on.
@billybob-uz6wz5 ай бұрын
Red was a bot from the beginning, so killing red doesn't increase his placement in addition to costing him troops. Europe is also harder to guard than America. Europe is also in between everyone so you have to worry about everyone except South America.
@corbantinning84785 ай бұрын
@billybob-uz6wz all good points. But two to three extra turns generating 5 extra troops per turn, having to punch through less than half of the troops purple had to aquire your first bonus and potentially generating goodwill from you neighbour purple all feel like points worth consideration. Not to mention it is a move that would have left Pete in a less weakened state, and the fact that Europe has 4 guard points doesn't matter when he would have just been guarding with a threat stack anyway (which is how he guarded Canada)
@elimcneely71185 ай бұрын
Early game it could have made him the fish. But green taking it late game could have saved them from fourth if the others deadliest trapped with him
@Jonny-Har5 ай бұрын
Yea I was thinking this too. Early game definitely agree but later Pete hit a 13 or 14 stack in American where the red troops were less. I think at that point the relationship with purple could have been recovered too 🤷♂️ And green not taking Europe late game was so confusing!!! Side note: end game I do agree with white killing Pete, I’d prefer to get in an equal-ish 1v1 and hope you can outplay the Aussie turtle and avoid a 3 player stalemate.
@JonCookeBridge5 ай бұрын
Black had so many troops locked in that ending, and only had two cards. White could have put a stack in North Africa, killed green and you and card blocked black for one turn, smashing up the 30 stack in India without opening. They had enough troops to hold 15 in bonuses for a turn and deny black a card. That gives them a favourable 1v1.
@Anon971234 ай бұрын
Yep and even in the 1v1 he should've kept Black under 12 territories whenever he could. Quite surprised they were both Masters tbh because they both seemed pretty inexperienced when it got to the 1v1 stage. Guess you can get to Master by just finishing 2nd a lot though.

Exactly. An easy win for white. Just collect the 15 extra bonus, plus all whatever extra for so many territories. Even just one turn would give him an easy win.

I have been to therapy and understood why I fucked my life up so bad when I was younger, I have managed to now get an engineering job so have an income but I have not had a girlfriend in 9 years and am so fucking lonely. I struggle with thinking of myself as worthy because for the majority of my life I have either been hated by my parents or called a crazy phscho because of the arson. I have no confidence at all, I have recently moved to a new country to get away from my parents, but now I have no friends I have no idea what to do. I suck at making friends because I have very bad anxiety. I have the potential to have a decent career with my job but I can feel it sliping away because I’m just so lonely and it all feels so pointless because there is not really a single person on earth who gives a shit about me. I worked to hard to have a career but I am so shit with relationships. My therapist recently told me I have adhd so am getting assessed so I can get Ritalin. Do you think this will help a lot? There were times I wanted to end it when I was young. I got beaten frequently. Almost daily in fact. I will not go into too much detail here. But around 5-8 years later I was the happiest I could have ever been. Its not like ups and downs happen instantly. It took a while and I'd say in my teens the swing was at the top. Then, in my early twenties I had it really really bad again. Not to that extent that I thought about ending it. But life was really freaking hard. Few years later it swings back up and its great again. I dont know what else to say since I haven't experienced your situation. Other than that I am happy that I am here today despite the things that made life harder than it had to be I will not say time will resolve everything. But... there is a big chance you will be a completely different person in a different time, different place and even your body will be different. Its like you live a new life. But you keep some of the memories. Which makes you grateful. More than if you didnt have these memories for sure! Which is ironic. Because it means that you appreciate life more BECAUSE you have these bad memories. Other people who have the same stuff that you have won't be able to appreciate it the same. Because they lack the downtrend Its as if the downtrend is the requirement to feel the highest of highs Anyways. There is always the possibility to checkout. But getting back into life isnt. Might as well stay and see what's in it for you. At that occasion, you might want to take some big leaps of faith. Like your location change probably was. By changing a few constants that you had for a long long time in life, you might get a few constant changes in life. Hopefully for the better. Deep down you know which changes will lead to worse and which lead to better outcomes. Wish you all the best

today I had the unluckiest 1v1 on 6 player classic fixed (true random). It was wild and heartbreaking. It started with my advantage 60 on 40 and I had a lot more board and good position to protect my bonuses (he had single stack). Also, there was a bot. First, he rolled 40 v 20 and lost 4 troops, equaling the troop count. After I reciprocate and guard again, he wins 9 v 11 to break my bonus (russia, very crucial). For the next like 8 turns we kept slamming into each other with equal luck while I maintained a slight advantage. I could kill him whenever I had set before him and I was 1 card up. There were at least 3 chances, but it never happened. He always had set on 3 while I didn't. Eventually, bot had to start eating me from behind, diminishing my advantage and finally opponent killed me with the final set on 3. But bot was too big already. I played 1v1, with advantage, making better decisions, and placed third. That was so tragic.
