Capitals don’t get any advantage below 3 troops, so a 4 cap isn’t much stronger than a normal 4 territory. I think he got above average dice still, but it’s not like he took a 100 cap or 10 cap going positive.

@@cf316 the average expectation of true random dice is the same as balanced blitz. Above average dice means above average dice. The extremes are more extreme in true random (you might lose way less or way more) but the average should be identical.

I made a post on the forum in the discord server, specifically about punishing players who quit the game. Either by a karma system or increansingly longer timeouts, depending on how many times a player quits the game. Sucks that people ready up for ranked games just to leave immediately or just throughout the game. It completely ruins the balance of the game and brings a new element of luck into a somewhat competitive game. I just dont get it man.

I imagine it’s the players with infinite coins. They don’t like what they see, they just quit and start another game. I had 5 players quit within the first 3 rounds a couple days ago. 😮

The Devs could add a quit/played ratio to each person's tag in the lobby, with the host being able to bounce anyone that they think will bail.

I think it stems from this being a free to play mobile game. The mentality entering into a game on mobile is entirely different. You're just trying to kill some time between appointments or on your work commute...not necessarily get involved in a 1+ hour game.

I play a game with a karma system. It displays how many of the past 20 games you've ragequit to the other players in the lobby. I feel like this is an easy system to implement, without having to add any complex new UI elements or moderation tools. It lets the player population self-regulate bitchquitters.

I don't think that breaking someone early is a bad strategy. Isn't checking opponents early while you simultaneously grow a way to increase your advantage immediately? The cost is diplomacy, I understand, but by default, you aren't anyone's actual ally.

I find that when I see someone break a bonus early, it tells everyone on the board that you're a bad neighbor and can't be trusted. Why let the guy who can't be trusted gain any bonuses and prove once again that they'll break your bonuses? That goes out the window though if you break a massive bonus early. It looks more friendly to the board if you prevent a player from snowballing.

usually what happens in my experience is if you break someone and take a bonus, then they just do the same back, and you cant expand due to spending your troops on breaking

I had such a bad game today. Meta settings, blizzards made Russia, scandi and noob corner a 2 point hold. I cap second on one of these two points, and BOTH WHITE AND RED CAP RIGHT NEXT TO ME. Red ended up winning because Purple had no clue they needed to smack red in order to win. Thinking back, I should have played more patiently, but I was SO pissed off by these caps that I tried my hardest to make red lose, making all sorts of stupid mistakes which got me 3rd

If there is a very obvious strong point made from blizzards it’s almost never a good idea to gung ho fight for it. Chances are multiple people are already going to fight for it. Cap somewhere else, take some early bonuses (likely uncontested due to the fight for the blocked off area) and then strike when your opponents have depleted their troops by attacking each other.

Yes. The main reason I don't do it on these games is I don't want to teach my opponents to do that and make the game take way longer.

What you think about a cap run at 28:30? It would be tight but purple only 36 on cap, and red are only 70 of cap troops. Put 20 on prussia -> 54 on 36 cap, worst case second puncher from turkey 8 on Berlin -> 83 on 70 Edit: i guess you even had an additonal 8 trade in the cards ;) TAKE THE RISK, RISKTAKER Much love

Sure. The missing element is size. Going positive on a four cap is unlikely but not that unlikely. Going positive on caps becomes progressively less likely the larger the cap is. Once caps are over 100 the probability of positive rolls starts to become astronomically small.

the way they are calculated is off from what they are supposed to be and don't provide as much resitance when defending as they should. I believe the developers have said it's because of how the rolls are approximated in game.

It doesn't manually calculate all rolls and just uses an estimation. The other thing is just because it is a capital and gets the 3rd defender dice doesn't mean that extra dice increases the number of troops lost by the attacker but rather just increases the variance. So because of this, you get results that seem to be outliers more often than if you were to actually simulate all the rolls.

He got 750 battle points, which are the leveling system in risk. It works like a battle pass in other games, just gives you rewards when you level up to certain thresholds. They don't actually tell you how many rank points you get after a lobby, you would need to add it yourself
