Let us remember to love one another, but not idolize one another. I used to idolize pastors and heroes of mine because of the words they say and the things they do but a great hero of mine told me "It isn't me, but it is God through me, the Holy Spirit through me, for without Christ I am wretched, rotten, and evil." I love the words Martin Luther King Jr. speaks and agree good things are gifts from God, but let us make sure we cherish the giver more than the gifts. @@travelingexpress Friend, be careful and humble. Some who think they are qualified to teach others, may come to realize that THEY themselves need to be taught. I'm not saying MLK got ever point right, but he got his main point right: "Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God. Whoever says that he loves God and does not love his brother is a liar. How can we love God whom we've never seen and hate our neighbor who we see every day?" That's the point! When we love someone, he/she is treated as one of the family, as indeed he/she is. We are all part of the HUMAN FAMILY and should be treated as such. Failure to excise this cancer of racism in America has NOW resulted in our country being on "life support" and everyone must do their best to turn this emergency around. God ONLY can fix America! He ALONE, if it were according to His plan. But we can do our part to coexist in some sort of tranquility until He returns to get rid of this wicked race, (human race) and clean up this world, and eventually set up a Kingdom of love, peace and harmony that will last Forever. Some seem to remember Dr. King as a brilliant speaker, or as a civil rights leader, or as a Jesus-loving preacher. If he had only been one of those things by itself, he would not have been the powerful man that he was... it was only the perfect combination of the three that made him such a powerhouse in America and so feared by those who opposed him.

Chris Hendricks.. Thank you for your acute post. I might add that Dr. King was a man of superb intellect, Godly wisdom and unshakeable courage. He was a friend of my Pastor during that time, but I was too young to comprehend the magnitude of Dr. King.

Yesterday and today I find myself listening to the immortal words of Dr. King. I'm not sure why God has brought me in this direction but I know that when he does there is a message he wanted me to hear. I was 6 years old, chosen by my pastor at the time, Dr. Curtis W. Harris, may he rest in peace, to travel an hour and a half to go to Ivor Virginia to hear Dr. King speak. Instead Rev. Ralph Abernathy came in his place. Our King couldn't make it because American evil took his life. Some would like to say much has changed, but I disagree. Not when the silent voice of George Floyd and so many others still ring from the grave of the injustice that this country displays on a daily basis. America has lost it's saltiness as the Holy Scriptures has written. America's apostasy has taken this country to a place that will soon be it's demise, a place of no return and swift judgement.

This man should be beatified; He was a saint. Such a regal man, an eloquent and engaging speaker. May all Americans honor him, and treasure his words, for they are relevant in all times. We were gifted him by our gracious God for too short a time, and it is our duty to carry his message forward, to future generations, that we shall never forget the struggle, the pain and the evils that were dealt to his people. We must remember, for it is through those memories only that one is able to appreciate the truth, the beauty behind the noble words

Jesus said "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Does a good tree bear bad fruit?" MLK, Jr. talked the talk, walked the walk, and gave birth to a better way. MLK Jr. is a good tree that bore good fruit. As a skeptical person, I look down on BLM, but I admire this man, a true King, and I only hope that I don't make him feel ashamed, from his throne in the afterlife - that I haven't so disappointed him that he would adjudge me unworthy at a seat at his table. I happen to be white, but this man's great teachings have taught me to understand that being white means nothing - the contents of my character and the quality of my actions are the only things that matter. And so I know only character matters, although that gets a big assist from Susan B. Anthony and a bunch of other women, who have rightfully pronounced, "We matter as much as you." So true - no human is superior to another, unless that person does something extraordinary to prove it. America and the world should pay heed to aspiration, in my humble opinion, lest they succumb to pessimism. We Americans must not only promote the values and prosperity of the USA, but of the whole world, and if we have done anything less we have failed. MLK, Jr. helped teach me that - me, a white boy who wants everyone else to be even happier than me. I don't see power as my ability to oppress others - I see see power as the ability to push others, of any race, to be excelllent. This black man MLK, Jr. was simply correct. He inspires me, and should inspire everyone, not to hate ourselves based on what race we were born as, but to embrace the universal quality of excellence, for although we all sin, so too can we be redeemed. If I were a lesser man, I would not love MLK, Jr.

Rest in peace, o great MLK. Your knowledge, understanding and delivery were exceptional ! You made my day, king. Truly Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a gift of God. God almighty gave him the same wisdom and knowledge that was given to the king Solomon. Otherwise he would not have become a great world class leader within 32 years. His inspiring speech that he gave in the Baptist church in 1956 November still inspires even now millions of peoples across the world. It is a sad thing that even during his life time in the there were 256 denominations segregated themselves from each other.... It is now 2010 and still it is the same condition all over the world. His dream is not yet to be realised . As he said , let the churches unite themself first and express their brotherhood to the world first. This is needed because Christ is only one body of the church not many bodies. Why to divide it into so many pieces?. Will it not hurt Him? Will God like it?. Never. Never. May God give us the wisdom to realise his dream. Thanks be to God.

As God said to Satan in the Book of Job, Chapters 1 and 2, “Have you considered my servant Job, he is of perfect integrity?” None of us are perfect. We all, including Dr. King, have fallen short of glory, but the thing I can say is standing flat footed and without any reservation; Dr. King had perfect integrity because He lived his life as a sincere servant for the kingdom of God.
