I collect coins, that purple hue is called "toning" some people boil coins with eggs to get the same result. I'm not sure why they get that way, but a coin can be rainbow toned or a purple/bright blue tone.

I'd like to see how MARBLES turn out after a tumbling! > Will they have that frosted feel all around, or will it have significantly less because there aren't any edges to wear away? > Will you still be able to see the swirls of colors inside them, or not? > Will any of them break and turn into smaller shards, or perhaps chip and deform? > How will they look if you shine different sorts of light thru them afterward? Edit: I also like those Kiwi Co boxes. They look cool. :D

Why is there a fidget spinner in the soap dispenser
@JeskaDax
@JeskaDax 4 жыл бұрын
@@jackghaderi377 It does look like a fidget spinner doesn't it? Awesome catch! That part has 3 small wheels where the circles of weight would be on a fidget spinner, and it squeezes and presses whatever fluid is in the flexible tube around it (which can be seen in the video too). This provides the pumping action in the direction associated with the direction the "spinner" is spinning and is why the soap is dispensed in spurts instead of just pouring out.

What Nate said is correct: in Australia we got rid of our 1c and 2c coins. You could trade them in for their value in larger increments when they were first decommissioned. My grandmother and her friends however use them in friendly card games (mostly solo) where a win gets you 5c and every trick you win above that is an additional 1c.

The way to use those rotary tumblers is to use stainless steel shot (about a 1000g), jeweler suppliers sell those. Get some with different shapes so they reach all the crevices. Put the shot in the tumbler and put water in there till it rises to just above the level of the steel shot, then some polishing liquid (preferred) or dish soap. Gets me mirror shine results every time after just a few hours of tumbling on things like copper and silver.

Hey I've got that tumbler! We've already done multiple batches through it... It's definitely got it's weak points, but if I could fix them, you guys won't have any problems!

I heated a penny up once and it flashed blue, I thought it was so neat I told my friend to watch then did it again, then though it would be soft so I hit it with a hammer and the liquid zinc inside the stiff copper shell exploded all over us and burnt us, anyway I don’t think their color is from heat, it could be but I think they’d be more deformed, the zinc turns to liquid pretty quick but I could be wrong

No, that is just the zinc shining though the copper.

I used to tumble things alot. Adding many small ball bearings along with the grit and some water seemed to rapidly speed up the process.

How about getting as perfectly round geode as you can find And ware away the outer layer Till you only see the quartz crystals still in the farm of the rock? I think that would end up looking cool.

Something about the rainbow hue, seems like a catalytic amalgam or something about the zink and copper. Metallurgy like in 'atlas shrugged' smooth steel rails for trains but they were a blue green metal.. Copper zink, aluminum, very interesting alloys. Electrum gold silver and copper. Dude should experamint with a small smelting forge too. :)

If you tape a feather and a rock (or something else) to the top of a mason jar use the same trick you used for the stale experiment on the mason jars and then see the difference in the amount of time they take to fall because the air resistance won't be a variable anymore.
