@NormReitzel
@NormReitzel 4 жыл бұрын
It's a vibratory tumbler. What do you want, stainless steel outer tub, or a union label? Sure. you can pay $400 for a "professional" tumbler and it will perform exactly like the (admittedly cheap) harbor freight unit. And the HF unit won't last as long, but for the difference in price you could buy ten new HF tumblers. I'm all for well built tools, but I believe the term that applies is "gild the lilly."

Basically when a vibration like force is applied to sand it turns into liqud i.e. It loses it shear strength (ability to hold up along a surface). I have several vibratory tumblers I use for cleaning ammunition brass. I used to have issues with the tumblers "walking" across the garage floor while they were running. I tried putting the tumblers on different things to fix the issue with no luck until I tried some pieces of used linoleum flooring. I cut them down so the tumblers would fit on them and put the "slick" side down and the rough side up, which is opposite of what you do when you install the flooring... Worked like a charm! I can leave my tumblers running for hours and they don't budge at all. I got the idea from the flooring guys who installed my laminate flooring. They put linoleum down on the concrete floor first to act as a slip pad and they laid it down on the slick side with the rough side facing up. That way the laminate flooring would "float" over the rough side, so to speak.
