David, Alastair, Bob, Bruce, Simon, & Stephen! You were the first King's Singers lineup that I ever saw when I was introduced to you in High School choir. I've been a fan ever since! Still my favorite lineup to date. I think it was so great because it had Simon & Alastair from the previous two decades, with David & Stephen who would lead for the next two decades.

Oh my, the 'clarinet' rise mimicking Rhapsody in Blue is amazing.

It takes a very special person to be a King's Singer; he must have both the intellectual reverence to sing the more serious works of early music as well as the wild abandon to sing, well, this. Also, is nobody going to talk about Alastair Hume's splendiferous dance moves at 3:03?

Absolutely agree, if you're going to do it then go for it big time! Love this version of the song and also this line-up, can't beat Stephen as bass (even with the monobrow which fortunately he eventually removed). Shame that tv in general has changed so much from these days and we don't have family, non competition based entertainment programmes any more. Thank goodness for KZbin.

Sean Hagen I know, right?! He's adorable. Also, Stephen's unibrow is something else...

Brilliant as usual. It wouldn't be the King's Singers if it wasn't brilliant. Its the line up that prompts me to write. I have not seen many of this one. David Hurley is the link with members of the first line up and the present line up. Attribute to the longevity of the group's popularity is no matter who is in the group, no matter what they sing their musicianship is second to none and is compulsive listening.

The lead singer is Bob Chillcot, next to him is 'trombone' Bruce Russel, then 'clarinet' David Hurley, then 'drummer' Anthony Holt, and the last man in line is 'trumpet' Alistair Hume.

His name is Stephen Connolly, but he's not singing with the King's Singers anymore. After 23 years he has left the group in 2010, Finding a new job as 'Head of vocal studies' at The Cheltenham Ladies College in Gloucestershire.

Makes me realise how the ( musical) comedy has pretty much disappeared from more recent incarnations of KS. Wonderful.

@Mark26111984 ... Dear Mark, I think you will see that the 'drummer' was infact Simon Carrington and you forgot to mention Stephen Connelly in your list 'The bass player'... But the others are right.. I love TKS and will listen to anything they sing.. they could even sing the yellow pages and make that sound good I'm sure.. Best regards from Wales :0)X

@wenglishsal : You're totally right about Simon. My mistake. And thát even when his name appeared in the endtitle :S. Hope you can forgive me :P. But regarding to Stephen, I've allready mentioned him in a reply to sbkrantz. Though he's not in my list , I did mention him (again a painfull mistake, because he's still my favourite KS'er) The King'sSingers singing the yellow pages... that would be a nice challenge. Greetings from the Netherlands!
