Investing successfully demands hard work and mental discipline, buying in times of panic, selling during euphoria, and staying patient through boredom. It is less about intelligence and more about temperament, with emotional control making up 95 percent of the process.

Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.

In my opinion, it was much easier investing back in the 60s but it’s a lot trickier now, those making consistent profit in these times are professionals reason I’ve been using an advisor for the past 5 years to consistently build my portfolio in preparations for retirement.

I sense one of the key elements to the success, is the use of LOCAL talent, as I have witnesed a lot of businesses in Canada in our farm community is brining in someone big to try and save there business, and forgetting often the local talent has also put in the time, and or has studied in the big city and has traveled, as we become blind to the community being the team right there in front of us, if there always looking for someone better from far, that is not someone you want a work relationship with.

Wow. I greatly enjoyed listening to your podcast interview of Mr Bragg. The charm it began with in his memories of childhood athletics was matched by his admission that he doesn’t share Mr Munger’s view of Ebitda. Ya. I have friends that won’t take the time to listen to this kind of content saying they’d ‘rather watch paint dry.’ None of them live up to their potential never mind exceed it. Yes, it takes discipline sometimes to study this kind of information but the benefits are factors greater than the time and discipline investment required to do so. But they won’t spend money on a cpa either - and watching/listening to this doesn’t even cost money! But I’m ok with acknowledging that i don’t know everything- knowledge provides a great return.

@@oopskapootz7276 In Germany, following reunification many homes that had not been renovated in East Germany's Communist system were repaired and the construction companies doing the renovation also installed the cable for TV. West German backed cable operators began to buy up these small cable operations in the mid 1990's. This is also similar to what Bragg did although he did not spend much time in the interview discussing his cable business.
