@@lydiapetra1211 This happened 15, or so years ago. Lucy was an Olde English Bulldog. She woke up one morning from a dead sleep and began to scream in pain. She wouldn't walk or move. Scared the hell out of me. Emergency vet could find nothing wrong. I did some research and asked to have a lyme test done. They flatly refused and said there was no lyme in the area. I pitched a fit and demanded that they take her blood. Next day came back positive. They put her on antibiotics and she recovered. She suffered with arthritis in her later life. She lived to be 10, which is fairly average for a bulldog. She passed 5 years ago and we haven't been able to muster getting another pet. We loved her to the moon and back. I doubt we will love another dog the same. Thank you for asking.😊

I lost my dog to a similar thing a couple of months ago. It has wrecked me. She was such a good girl and was about to have her 14th birthday. She had a stroke and couldn’t walk or balance that well. She was able to go to the bathroom and eat, but had to carry her outside to do her business and make sure she didn’t wander into the woods. But since I’m in a wheelchair and I couldn’t carry her in and out on my own, unfortunately had to lay her to rest due to winter coming and not being able to get her in and out. It broke my heart. Still trying to come to grips with it all. Dogs are such an amazing blessing for those of us who need a companion. She was my rock and vice versa. Can’t explain how hard it is to go thru this and struggle with the daily challenges that come with being paralyzed as well.

Our dog has a collapsing thorax. When an episode starts she sounds like a child with croup. She was X-rays and her right side has collapsed more than her left. She is on pain medicine 2x a day. This is so precious. Love to see responsible owners caring for their fur babies. I had a pit mix that I was gifted. We nursed him through parvo when he was really young. And he was tough as nails after that. When he was 7 (in human years) I came home from work to find him in the same spot he was in when I left that morning. We took him to the emergency vet. After umpteen tests and X-rays I was told he needed a $3,000 surgery or they were going to put him down. Neither of which I was able or willing to do. Option C was place him on a steroid. So, they did. Before work we used a towel to help walk him out to use the restroom. I came home every day on my lunch break and did the same. I prayed over him as if my life depended on it, and believed he would walk again. 2 months later he stood up like Bambi. My sweet boy lived another happy, and healthy 7 years. He passed at the ripe old age of 14. I still miss him to this day. He could say I love you. And, he used to sit up in the back seat of the car like a person. The people at the drive through we frequented knew him well. They’d always slip him sausage links. And, he always got his own burger. 😂

My dog has those same symptoms and because I was worried, I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis, which luckily got fixed, although we were very likely - the vet couldn’t even give us a 50/50, because it was so bad. Then, he somehow managed to get it again! This time, it caused him to develop diabetes, and now he’s half blind, but he had surgery and as long as we give him eye drops he shouldn’t get any worse. He was shaking a lot, and he actually just refused to stand up cause it hurt too much. At first we thought he was just being a lazy boi because of the not standing, because he is a very lazy boi, and always has been, but when his shaking wouldn’t stop, I grabbed a sleeping bag, hopped in it, and grabbed him to snuggle inside of it, because I thought he was just cold, but after I was soaking wet from sweat and he was still shaking just as bad, I knew something was wrong. I would like it to be known that it is all his own and my mother’s fault. He goes into the pantry several times a day to see if he can steal something, but now all of the tasty things are on the top shelves, and my mom always ordered fries with her McDonald’s, but she couldn’t eat them because she was full every time, so once a week, he got a large fries from my mom, which was the main cause of his pancreatitis. Keep an eye on your friends and family around your dog, because doing something as simple as giving your dog some tasty hooman food can kill it. They love it, but it will kill them

I mix with 1/3 pretty good kibble and the rest of whatever, chicken, chicken liver, pork, beef, mostly chicken, whatever broth and scrap. I will figure out if I need to reduce the fat in the meal. He might just be old, like I said him and his sister are 17 and will be 18 in a few months and they were both in great health, but he fell apart last week. He is doing way better but I an still concerned. Sorry for the wall of text.

Definitely do the vet and stuff but I had a husky, she made it to almost 15 years old, about a month shy of her 15th bday. When she was about 10 she started having a hard time walking, the vet recommended glucosamine, so I started by giving her a human glucosamine pill a couple times a week, and eventually it got to a pill in the morning and in the evening but I know it worked because if she ever missed a single dosage she could barely walk. We had a few times in those 5 years that we thought was the end but she rallied and got better. At the end she lost her ability to walk and wasn’t eating, except for her favorite treats and I had to make the tough decision to let her go. But I’m so thankful for glucosamine because without she wouldn’t have made it to 15, which is pretty old for a big dog, so I’ve been told. It’s been about 7 years and I still miss my girl so much. I never intended to get another husky, I love them but they’re so high maintenance, but my ex got one and couldn’t take care of him so now I have a 3 year old male husky.

Wouldn't recommend human glucosamine for dogs but it's basically just a supplement that helps joints so in that case you might as well use fish oil or arthritis meds. I knew a collie that got to 14 with salmon oil and there's a rescue schnauzer that's probably 14-15 still waddles around that uses Yu-Move he takes one in the morning and is rather stiff when he wakes up but springs back to life a little later on and spins around when he wants a walk. 😂

My vet said it was a brain tumor when my golden/lab mixed acted the same way. 2 emergency vets and finally the 3rd regular vet later, he had a mild fungal ear infection in one ear and a very bad bacterial infection on the other. With ear drops and antibiotics, he was fine 6 weeks later, and is now pain free for the last 7 months. Hard to believe it took so long for the correct diagnosis.

These dogs are literally human. I used to have the privilege of playing with my mother’s roommate husky. I was only 10 years old. We bonded like best friends ever!!! We would play for hours on the couch. This dog was the sweetest thing I’ve ever met in my life God bless dogs and never stop at anything to do your best for them because they will give you so much love back and once they are gone they leave a big hole in your heart so never take for granted the time you have with them.

my niece has two dogs, mia and denva. denva now lives with my parents as they don't want a single mum strugling with two big dogs. anyhow both of them have had a fortune spent on them when they damaged tendons in their legs and needed surgical intervention. parents didn't even blink and went ahead (8k austalian per dog) mia doesn't like me at all and always barks but denva adores me and when i go over hes like a cat begging for scritches and at 40kg he can make a pest of himself, but i love the big lug.

Currently I have 8 dogs, 1 cat, 2 tortoises and 1 duck waiting for me in heaven. I have been so VERY fortunate to have had animals in my life. My mother was the driving force behind showing us the importance of love and kindness towards animals. Animals transform sadness to happiness, despair to hope and emptiness to fulfilment. As much as I agree, this is also the privilege that only comes with money. We went roughly 14k into debt over the course of 2 days to keep a cat alive, only for him to die of a heart attack followed by a stroke as his (unknown at the time) lymphoma reacted badly to a normal pain medication. It was sudden, terrifying, and world shattering. If we didn't have the people who helped us (also a privilege), we never could have done anything for him and would have had to put him down immediately. I cannot imagine how expensive it is for this good boy to be treated for his health issues, but I'm assuming based on the video that his parents have the funds to keep him alive, which many people simply don't have.

I had the same issue with my GSD. He was 1yr old. Misdiagnosed by 4 different vets. They all thought it was a hernia. Finally took him to a dog neurologist, and turns out it was a spinal cord infection called discospondilitis. He contracted it while getting neutered. Took penicillin for a couple weeks and infection was gone. However, it took so long to get the correct diagnosis that 3 of his vertebrae had cracked, which is why he was in so much pain. Luckily my pup was only 1yr old & the vet said his vertebrae would heal by itself on strict rest. 9 months of strict rest later, and his spinal cord was fully healed! My dog is now 7yrs old, and we've played fetch damn near every day since! Literally 100% full recovery. The whole ordeal was like $8,000, and watching him in excruciating pain for those 6mo until he was finally diagnosed properly was just beyond heartbreaking; and trying to keep a 1yr old puppy on strict rest w no running/jumping/playing for 9mo was absolutely brutal, but it was all worth it. He recovered fully & has lived the last 6yrs running, jumping, swimming, playing, you name it! This dog in the video reminds me ALOT of my dog when he was in pain. My vet told me it was the first 'real-world' case of discospondilitis shed seen in 25yrs as a practicing vet. Its a suuuuper rare infection but totally easily curable, just most vets never look for it bc its so rare. Just thought I'd share this with the hope it could save even 1 dog's life some day. We thought my dog was going to have to be put down, like it was a very real concern. Turns out he just needed some penicillin & rest. I pray your pup is able to recover like mine was. God bless

I will keep your husky in my prayers. My husky passed away last October. He developed diabetes then Cushion disease. He was almost 9 years old 🥲I missed him every single day!

I know how it feels to sell everything of value that you own, to get your dog the care that they need. I sold my home to pay for the cancer surgeries that my 10 year old dog needed to beat hos cancer. Was totally worth it!! I got five more great years with my best friend in this world. If my dog isn't waiting for me when I doe,,,I'll know that I didn't get in to Heaven....."Man's best friend" is so very true....

Knowing your dog is in pain, not knowing why or how to help them is truly an awful feeling. We lost our dog, "Duke", last year after trying everything we could and I can tell you that the worst part was not being able to help his pain. I'm very happy that you and your boyfriend are able and willing to do special stuff like that for him and that he is feeling better. 🧡

Had similar happen with Storm my previous Husky at 2 years old, Vets did tests and it turned out to be double hip dysplasia with one joint full of arthritis
