Regarding you point about Sabine not telling Ezra about everything, I actually think it's ok IN THE MOMENT because I think it makes sense her having that reaction. After all it has been 10 years since she saw the person she feels is the closest to her. I think she'd want to slowly ease her way towards that hard conversation that she'll have with him next episode. It was just that IN THAT MOMENT of her seeing him for the first time she did just want to be happy and I get that. I think that's a normal human emotion. Also remember she doesn't know that Thrawn sent Baylan and Shin after her. There's a lot going on don't get me wrong but I hope this is a good explanation.

She has consistantly been emotionally immature and just plain stupid to the point where the success of the villans is only because of her.... I think she suffers from borderline personality disorder... "Stay here with the orb!" "Stay together" - Sabine: "I got this!" "You made a promise!" "You are just gonna let me go?" "Can we not talk about this now, Just let me be happy!" -Consistantly making the wrong choices in every situation....

This is one of the best episodes of Star Wars ever made. First off, the highly anticipated return of Thrawn not only paid off but FAR exceeded our already high expectations. He was already perfect in Rebels, but FINALLY seeing Lars Mikkelsen play Thrawn in live action proves was was born to play Grand Admiral Thrawn! And his “Night Troopers” are beyond awesome. They’re the most intimidating looking army I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. Especially Enoch, he looks like a mix of a Roman centurion and a gladiator. And Baylan Skoll is proving to be one of the most complex and compelling characters in all of Star Wars. He managed to see not only that the Jedi had fallen even before Order 66 because of how they had become so blinded by their own hubris and hypocrisy, but he sees that the Galaxy can never be governed for long or even properly by either a Republic nor an Empire. So he is looking for a new power that will outlast all of them. It just makes it more tragic that Ray Stevenson didn’t live to see the overwhelming praise he would’ve received. What really surprised me was the Nightsisters being the lynchpin that ties everything together. Now it makes sense how an incredibly ancient map could lead to where Thrawn was currently, because Morgan was told so in her visions by the Great Mothers, who were instructed by Thrawn. And in exchange for aiding Thrawn, he would take them and whatever their cargo is (and I have a bad feeling I might know what it is) back to our Galaxy. DAVE FILONI YOU MAD GENIUS, YOU NEVER FAIL TO ENTERTAIN US!

Ray's character is the only metamorphosis that is on the table for the audience. Cartoons have a pacing that is meant to be slower and more robotic than real life; the technology to bring fully the emotional transition without great voice acting is not there. Live action is expected to bring more emotion. I have no proof that actors did or did not consult extensively with actors who played the voice roles for so long... it does not seem like they did. Sabine's voice actress seems like Sabine while the live actress seems like a version of Sabine missing something... Without Ahsoka on screen, I am bored in episode 6....

Sabine is terrified to tell Ezra that she made the choice to make his sacrifice pointless. To tell him that she personally freed thrawn from exile just to see him. To tell him that same choice got Ahsoka killed (to her knowledge). It makes perfect sense that she wouldn't want that be their first conversation. As far as she knows, Ezra and her are being abandoned on that planet, and she's kind of okay with it. She has nothing to ho home to.

I think it's safe to say that Captain Enoch is not an undead because, behind the mask you find the actor Wes Chatham who is known for his leading role as Amos Burton in the sci-fi TV series The Expanse, so him not being alive but just another resurrected undead wearing a helmet, would not make much sense. It makes sense for her character that Sabine didn't talk about her 'failure' with Ezra. She's always been ashamed of her failures and reluctant to talk about them. @@TheRoyalFino Agree. I'm still enjoying the show for getting a lot of other things right, being bold and continuing to expand the mythos/intentions behind the characters, especially with ahsoka. I guess I see sabine's character the most regressed from what I remember in Rebels and perhaps the most done deliberately to give her a few seasons to grow. She is after all padawan to Ahsoka and hence part of Anakin's legacy. That must have a pay off at some point ;)

It makes sense for Sabine to not want to immediately explain the situation to Ezra. In her mind, with that conversation comes the fact that she has to tell him that she is the reason Thrawn is going to be able to get back to the main galaxy, undoing part of what Ezra did in Rebels, in a way… obviously she wouldn’t want to immediately jump into that conversation. She just wants to have a moment with her best friend she hasn’t seen in 10 years. It’s not the *right* thing to do, but the flaws are good for the character.

I think the Sabine thing is 'frustrating' as a viewer because we understand where it's going to go and what's important, but I feel viewing it from the perspective of Sabine, she absolutely just wants to have a good moment with Ezra without ruining it, either for her or for him. It's a selfish thing, there are more important things, but I can sympathise with her. I mean I'd be pulling my hair out trying to work out how to explain how coming to rescue him also means the potential return of Thrawn, the entire thing he 'sacrificed' himself for. Anyway, as long as it doesn't take too long to inform him, then I think it'll all be fine story wise. All that to say, I think it's relatively in character for Sabine, thinking with the heart first and the head second, but typically always ending up making the right choice. Anyway, whole episode felt like pure Star Wars, so much OT vibes through out.

I love how Filoni continues to remind us of Star Wars' Japanese cultural influence. For example: 1) The repairs made to the Star Destroyer and Stormtrooper armor were inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold, 2) The red armor of the marauders remind me of the red armor wore by the samurais in Akira Kurosawa's Ran, and 3) Bokken (when Baylan referred to Bokken Jedi) is the "fake" wooden sword used in training.

Hello Kristian Harloff, longtime viewer, first time commenter...I think. At any rate, I love that you're enjoying the Ahsoka series so far, and I love seeing your love and devotion to the franchise overall. It's very nice to see a fan who can have their own opinions and be civil about it, sadly, as Dooku would say, "A quality valued less and less in these great halls." On a more personal note, I have enjoyed the Ahsoka series as well, and I'd talk about my feelings on the other movies and shows, but we'll be here all day. But so far, I think we're more or less on the same page about everything, the end with Sabine and Ezra not being on the same page about the coming threat being one issue, but then I can understand them wanting one moment of peace...though I agree, they could have done away with the extra scenes with the "turtles" for something more meaningful. And last but not least, the grand entrance of Grand Admiral Thrawn into the live-action universe, from first to last scene, is glorious indeed. If I may respond to your point in 20:31 where you suggest that Thrawn needs a win, being the Thanos of the Star Wars world and therefore needs to do something devastating. I wholeheartedly agree that with the hype behind Thrawn, there has to be more than just a villain for three episodes. And if you want my opinion, I say Thrawn may very well cause the death of Mon Mothma. With Senators Amidala and Organa gone, Mothma is the last surviving member of the original Rebellion during Galactic Republic and Empire. Another thing to consider is that the show(s) have treated The New Republic with their cringey incompetence over what's going on right now. Mothma is definitely making it worse, having already had a relation with Hera and the Ghost crew. Somehow, I think this is was done on purpose to maybe setting up a moment where she'll see the error in their ways to help the Rebels team against Thrawn, though likely too late if speculations of Thrawn's further role in the Mando-verse are taken to be true. And I personally speculate (presuming it hasn't been brought up yet) this may lead to Mothma's death. I mean if she's gonna go before the Sequel Trilogy, what better way to go. Again, not sure if this had already been brought up or been debunked somehow, but it's something worth thinging about as we proceed with the grand scheme of things to come.

This was by far my favorite episode so far. The intro to Thrawn is perfect, and they’ve already demonstrated how ruthless and tactical he is. I love the trooper design and it seems that some, if not all, of them are zombie type beings from the Night Sisters like Marrok was. Building on whatever Baylon is up to worked great for me. I thought the intro of Ezra worked really well too, and I like the actor a lot so far in the character. I get what you’re saying about Sabine, but I don’t mind it as much because there would be so much guilt there. He risked everything to bring Thrawn away, and she’s basically undone his sacrifice. They probably intend for that to be a conflict between them in future episodes and that was too much to put here.

I think that ending fits because she's going to have to tell Ezra that she kinda betrayed his initial sacrifice by giving them the map to get there and in the process gave Thrawn a chance to return. Maybe she doesn't want to disappoint him.

I read Heir to the Empire when it came out in 1991 so I've been waiting for 32 years for Grand Admiral Thrawn to get to in live action and it didn't disappoint I say it's so far Perfect

I think this episode nailed who Sabine was flaws and all. Her not telling people important stuff like when they go to mandalore in rebels she doesn't mention that I made a super weapon that targets my own people's unique armor. Lol she can be a pain!

This (for me) is the best I have seen Sabine. She was for a lack of a better term "animated" I get she doesn't want to tell Ezra. She feels super guilty. Ahsoka is "dead" she is "letting" Thrawn back into the Galaxy and is basically undoing Ezra's sacrifice . Ezra I assume is happy to be exiled if he can keep Thrawn away, I love how Sabine transferred her feelings of abandonment form Ahsoka on tot he Dog Horse.

The Good: - We went to a new galaxy - Huyang's line, " A long, long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away " - The lead witch was Claudia Black of Farscape (a classic and one of my all-time favorite sci-fi shows) - Introduction of Thrawn - Reunion with Ezra - Thrawn's army is the most intriguing and threatening Stormtroopers I've ever seen. I think some if not all of them are de*d. Their armor has been crushed and restored with gold. Most likely due to suffering fatal wounds so they must've been reanimated with witch magic. The Bad: - The intro to the new galaxy took place on a barren boring wasteland of a planet. Instead of a sprawling, bustling civilization with new tech, culture, architecture, etc., we've never seen in SW before - Thrawn's Destroyer backdrop during his intro and for most of his scenes was really bad greenscreen or Volume. It reminded me of the blown-up obvious matte painting of the Millennium Falcon behind Lando in the scene with his "Would you get going you pirate? " line to Solo in ESB - Thrawn had a dad bod with a puny chest and shoulders with a beer belly which was comical to look at. Undermining his intimidating look otherwise. - The actor who played Ezra's delivery seemed a bit stiff and wooden on first viewing - You're right. Sabine's dismissiveness when Ezra asks her how she got to him makes no sense. Especially because the people who got her there may pose an imminent threat to them both. And she believes them to be their only way home (as she has no idea Ahsoka's even alive let alone coming to get her). Both are crucially important to communicate to Ezra immediately.

Agree with your assessment of Baylan. Sabine 's dialogue is inane. Love the wolf/horse. Really like your assessment of this episode. Like the turtle poeple. They call to mind both the droids at the mechanic shop and Dobby. Sabine was hideous. So unreal.

Did you think Sabine would be keen to tell Ezra she left Ahsoka for dead and gave up to the guy who knocked her off a cliff and borrowed a ride from Thrawn? I think she'd want to think about a way to break it to him and not ruin the moment. Yeah, it might be morally the wrong thing to do, but it was the believable thing to happen for the story.

I haven’t watched too much of rebels but from what I have seen of Sabine in this show, her attitude doesn’t surprise me. She’s not ready to face the guilt she feels from bringing that much risk to the galaxy to save Ezra, and she knows he’ll be pissed that she did it. She really wants that hour of happy reunion before he blames her.

WOW. What a great episode! There is so much going on. Baylon's story is absolutely fascinating. Is he trying to time travel? Is he going to be behind the first order? I have no clue where his story goes. Thrawn was dope. I am good with the reaction from Sabine and Ezra, and also trust that Filoni has intent on doing that, perhaps for the next two episodes story wise
