The Brock slander from Niners fans is ridiculous. Last year this dude was an MVP finalist, and while it hasn't been his best year he's still young and still has a better performance record than many that play the position, vets included. To say that this kid hasn't earned the contract he will be getting or that a bunch of emotional fans are going to try and put him down when the team is clearly not right, is not on Brock. If Trey Lance were in this same position, how many of you would have flipped your opinions? I'll bet quite a lot of you Brock haters would be all in on Trey if he had performed similarly. It's draftism. The League, these players, these commentators and hell, the FANS think Brock doesn't deserve this. That he shouldn't be here. That he was measured as a backup and has outplayed his station. That he is challenging the box he was already put in and that's wrong. Pay this man. He deserves it. Every single penny.

You point out 3 bad weather games where he didn't perform at a top level. Didn't Brock bring team back for win against Packers in the rain and again back big against Lion's last year playoffs? It was Purdy that stopped a huge knock against Kyle that he never could came back. Look at the QB's playing same bad weather games. Aganst Ram's, Stafford (possible hall of famer) only threw for 14 more yards, no touchdowns and he had his #1 & 2 receivers, #1 running back, no drops and a better O Line. Stafford also under threw Puka similar to Purdy-Lance on the Ram's longest play but Puka had huge separation and time before DB arrived where Persol had just a half step. Also, saying Brock sucked playing in a 6 inch snowstorm that SF was unlucky to play in that is maybe a once a year event for the entire League? How many QB's could have done better? Buffalo, where Allen who is considered top QB this year had his top receivers, a better O Line and Bills overall are a much better team. Defense does play at a different level with Dre combined with Warner.

The fact is, the Niners could lose both Dre Greenlaw and Huff. If that happens, what will the defense look like? I understand that both Dre and Huff are restricted free agents. Teams like Cleveland might offer Dre thirty million dollars annually with 90% guaranteed, the Niners can’t match. That’s the risk. I hope the Niners begin negotiations with these two players as soon as possible.

If you can't trade Deebo, he should be forced to earn his playing time. Kyle won't do that because that's not how he runs his team as friends get priority for Shannahan. But he should essentially become the most expensive punt returner, if he can win that spot. If he is the best receiver of the group, then he should start but that's wishful thinking.
