That's true. But when Burford was replaced, there was a noticeable improvement, so he was definitely struggling. That being said, I think both can improve.

Burford was the one who phucked up in SB OT is the reason the Niners don't have a 6th Lombardi trophy. Burford had that big screw up is on the hot seat. So don't be surprised if he won't get a new contract with the niners. Remember Tartt failed to catch that easy interception in 2021, not re-signed with the team. The backup TE failed to slow down Riddick, caused Purdy UCL injury, was not re-signed with team.

I think Ronnie Bell makes the team as I think the 49ers keep 6 receivers this season. With the unsettled long-term situation of Deebo and Jennings, the 49ers might be short at the position a year from now, and Bell might be really helpful. I think the niners keep 6 WRs and compensate by keeping 3 TEs. I think the decision to let Ross Dwelly sign with the Falcons bodes well for him, that's a clue that 6 WRs and 3 TEs is how they're leaning. I think Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Pearsall, Cowing and Bell are the 6 WRs that make the final cut. I think Bell is competing against Conley for that last spot. I think Trent Taylor goes to the PS to provide the 49ers with insurance if their punt returner gets injured this year.

😂 Agree, every yr, vets must improve n hold off replacement. WR Gray, Bell, Martin. Kyle doesn't play backups or rookies much, did WR Gray get opportunities. Like RB Price n Mason. WR Bell was thought to be replacement for Jennings last yr, but kept Jennings. Martin is a practice squad guy. RB Mitchell is good, but hurt often. O-line backups n right side needs upgrade. Coaches likes, but can backup really take over for starter, If starter goes down. TE Latu was a converted D-line, may be development guy, Willis is good guy, but might be an HB. But can rookie start. Kyle favor vets. D-line Jackson, Davis, Beals. Lots of backups who are just avg. CB/S Womack n Thomas n Luter? Salary cap might force Niners to keep some cheaper players. Like most veterans teams, cqp mostly spent on starters. Problem if starter is injured. Vets are older too, mostly like to get banged up. Niners are supposedly smart . But draft 2 WR, when they already have Deebo, Aiyuk , keep Jennings, sign UFA Owen's son. 10 WRs for 5-6 slots. Thought speed is what Niners wanted at WR. Why keep Deebo n Jennings. No D-Line drafted, when Niners used to build thru draft. Win now, SB window closing?, so get re-treads to fill D-line needs, guys on 1-2 yr deals, hope they can build chemistry during the season. Niners have made playoffs n SB, so they must be doing something right. Draft have yielded few starters lately. Team is getting older. With Deeboo. Aiyuk, Kittle, Cmc n maybe Jennings. Just how Pearsall n Cowing get on field, Some new wrinkle the Niners need to add to an offense teams have seen too often. The schedule doesn't help either, less rest between games . Eagles, GB, Detroit, Rams, Seattle, KC have gotten better with draft too. Niners even traded pick with KC so they could pick an OT. WtF. Helping our SB rival?, will Niners remember when they kick the O-line butts again? Let the camp battles begin.
