13:45 They take the caps off so the whole BOTTLE doesn't become a projectile (not the cap itself). Without the cap, a thrown bottle will spill its contents and peter out before it can reach the ice. Love your videos!

When a defender lays across the ice like that, they're not trying to block the shot, they are trying to prevent a flat pass across the crease to the 2nd forward. On a 2-on-1 the lone defender's main job is to prevent that pass across the middle, you leave the puck carrier to the goalie and stop the puck and/or puck carrier from crossing the middle.

This team as constructed is not built to win, it was clear against Carolina last year despite the outcome, it was clear against Florida last year, it was clear against Florida this year, and it was clear in this game yet again. Mike Keenan would've demanded the exile of some fan favorites but we would be competitive. It's really hard to get excited about these regular season games because this group is very much not it. Some of these guys might be dealing with off-ice stuff, who knows, but it's very tough to get excited about a playoff run.

Laviolet is awful. He does the same thing in Philadelphia ironically. He plays vets hoping they start clicking. The problem is they never do. Our defensive coach has also stated many a time he feels there is no defense problem. We lack a forecheck. That's on our forwards. Kreider has no teeth. He likes to score but not mix it up. Smith is worthless already. The fact that 50 Cools is praised tells you all you need to know about this team. Luckily, was we know from last year, being the best regular season means jack. I don't want Torts back. He was just as bad as every coach we had since Keenan. Iron Mike understood how truly dysfunctional Rangers players and ownership are. Our window to win was about 3 years ago. Now forget it. Too many teams are getting better. And we are declining.
