Great video. I will note though, the the Japanese 2800 did get released in North America under the Sears branding called the Video Arcade II. We had one of those growing up. :)

Damn, the Atari 2000 looked sharp. At any rate, I have got to talk about the Atari commercial with the dad paying for a 2600 for his kid (with a check). I don't think that commercial landed as well as Atari thought it did...let me explain. When you have a product on the market I don't think it's wise to show a customer unimpressed with all of the reasons one might buy one. Are you buying it for the excellent games...nope. What about it's low, low price...not interested. How about the incredible Space Invaders cartridge...no thanks. I'm only buying this stupid thing because my "cute" child is actually a monster. At least that's how I took it. ;) Addendum- Bro, the Atari Graduate was technically an unreleased Sega CD. Like the Sega CD it was supposed to be a cheap cost effective entry into better gaming. Then Sega decided to pile on specialized chips, RAM, another processor...until it became an albatross that cost a hefty $300 at launch.

Love learning about these old 2nd gen consoles (Atari, Intellivision, etc) because they're in a weird stage of gaming.

Well only those prototypes should be counted, not those concept sketials sadly,am mean damn i really wish that atari came up with a portible/handheld version of their 2600,but maybe the shinking technology wasn’t feasible for that back in the early 80’s, Maybe if they tried it in 1988 once shrinking technology became more advanced.
