army want mithai ka dibba. any indian weapon ,they will create problem. you cannot make straight forward world class weapons. they take time to mature. so you should buy if they perform 80 percent .slowly you can develop in to world class weapons. i have heard ATAGS as world class there range is one of highest so don't understand army thinking they should come out. did the Athos range is same as atags so plz clearify.

There is no comparision between ATAGS and M777 because both are very different gun. M777 is ultra light howitzer and it range is very less .if you reduce weight then then you have compromise with range. Army has to stop obsession with foreign weapons. They should first induct ATAGS atleast in 400 number then progressively improvement can be done. But ARMY changes specification every 1or2 year this is not how Researh and Development can happen
