Satyajeet Ray's first film Pather Panchali won 11 international prizes. His Apu Trilogy is widely famous among cinema lovers. Satyajeet Ray received 32 National Awards for his work. He is well respected across the world. Legendary directors such as Akira Kurasawa, Francis Ford Coppola, Wes Anderson, Richard Attenborough are fans of Satyajeet Ray's work. Academy honored him with Honorary Oscar award in 1992. Indian Government honored him with the Bharat Ratna award.
