Brilliant! Perhaps a large solar battery water spray in the pond? Keeps the water moving and hummingbirds and dragonflies love to fly through its spray. Your willingness to create the pond should be commended. Wonderful and inspirational...Ant's skills are brilliant🦤

How fortunate you are to have Ant as a neighbor and friend. Love the ideas he has to make your garden functional for your grandchildren as well as beautiful with the plants and flowers. The pond is so lovely and peaceful and Eileen is just as proud of it as you are, Kate. All sounds good! I was raised by a gardener mom who liked things natural and said, “there are no straight lines in nature.” Once the gardener trimmed a hedge into a boxy shape and she was heartbroken til it grew back. 😂

I’m a senior citizen, we need to be careful not to fall. So, having a safe pathway to prevent tripping. I know, I fell in my garden and didn’t break bones but had to get almost 20 stitches on my forehead. Thank goodness I didn’t have a bleed in my head!

How lovely that you can make space for the children to play in the garden. They are so lucky! Im sure your family will have great times out there. I know that you will all keep an eye on the little ones but I just want to remind people that ponds can be dangerous as well as fascinating for children . I grew up on the countryside, and as children,safety around water was always drummed into us ! Whenever i see a pond , I still remember one safety film about "the spirit of dark water" that scared us to bits! I wonder if you and Ant remember it too!

I live in the USA, in California, where life seems erratic and overly fast paced, due to long distances and the traffic situation. It is a treat for me to watch you and Ant work together, and also watching Ant alone, on his channel; it is like meditation for me due to your harmony and good will. What a difference! I love an English garden with the wildflowers giving a casual look and feel; I also love what just happened in this video to give way to a wonderful play area for the grandchildren! The swing set (and a picnic table maybe) will fit just right there!

I love the juxtaposition of more manicured areas with more wild areas, same with very shady areas opening to sun-drenched areas. They create so much energy and visual interest in the garden. I have found wild flower gardens to be fairly high maintenance as they are so welcoming to weeds. Looking forward to how your lawn develops…I think you will find the patch of green very comforting and a place to rest your eye as your flowers fill the edges.

Ive watched the sewing channel for ages and love the things you make, being a quilter myself (plus bags, clothes, anything that i fancy making) I either have you playing while im sewing so it feels like we're sewing together or i just sit and crochet and watch your latest video. Lovely! I so relate. We call our lawn, a woodland lawn, as it is all mixed with various grasses, clowers, and creeping plants. I have grandchildren, so we left a large swath going down to the lower area. It is used for sledding in winter, pools and slip and slides in summer, and running about with sticks and balls. A flower border on one side and 10 small raised beds on the other side for veg.

I cannot imagine being able to work outside in July in sweaters and sweat suits! I'm in Kentucky in USA and the temperatures here have been in the 90's with high humidity. I can barely stand to be outside side sitting in my porch swing much less working hard like you two just did. I'm loving your channels and look forward to each new video post! Sounds like a wonderful idea. You will have some soft edges to grow low flowers. Make your space more useful to those who use it. I don't have grandchildren but I have 3 dogs who need a place to run and play amongst the gardens without out being in the gardens. 😊
