The interesting thing about witches is that they are not part of the Abrahamic religion s, therefore, they don't believe in Satan. They were the medicine women in history, so, they became unpopular with the medical community and, of course, the Church did want competition with these pagans.

Yeah, poor Jimmy Carter. Remember that he was a Navy veteran. I remember when this happened and the Customs and Immigration officers who were veterans were not too happy letting in these draft dodgers from Canada.
