I've listened to other interviews with him (HBO's own podcast on Succession is great) and he is incredibly well read, rattling off a long Carl Jung or Nietzsche quote every 10 minutes. I know fans blend the actor and the role too much, but he does have a very considered way of speaking that translates well to the sheltered yet tragic Kendall. Kendall is less well-spoken, however ("Yeah. Good. Okay. Uh."), and tries harder to be funny in a corny way.

Wow! He has laughing eyes & a magnetic presence even more that Kendall. What a treat this was but would love to hear him in his native Boston accent too. He looks & sounds European, like he's forcing an American accent as he speaks in such a measured way. Yayyy! More Kendall, more Succession in 2021!
@samanthab19232 жыл бұрын
Wow, would never peg him for Boston.
@noragracewilliams7292 жыл бұрын
He said in a different interview that he never really had a Boston accent (probs because of his family upbringing) and he tried to shed Boston from himself when he moved to New York. Also, his wife is Danish and they have a house in Denmark, so maybe that’s why he has a bit of a European aura to him! And yes, I agree, he has a very kind face and you can tell he’s very thoughtful and sincere. :)

I've got so much respect for Strong's acting after seeing him on "Succession". It's some of the most difficult acting I've seen in a long time written by the guy that wrote Peep Show, so the cringe is always strong in those and it takes a special kind of actor to get that across, while drawing from deep inside to do so.

As a rule, I’m not a fan of television series or movies based out of fiction. I rarely watch anything other than documentary style programs or the crime channel.... that was until I discovered SUCCESSION. My world changed after finding this beautiful piece of mastery. In the past, I could have fallen over a Hollywood movie star in the street and never have even known I’d interacted with a famous person and I’ll be honest, it has happened. Succession changed that for me. Not only have I now watched the series at least ten times over, I’ve also intentionally searched films within which the stars from the show, feature. I stumbled onto “The trial of the Chicago 7” and watched it because it was based upon true events. Needless to say I was elated to discover Jeremy Strong, my new favourite actor, to be one of the star roles. He is absolutely brilliant. It’s so easy to fall in love with his character in Succession but to see him play other characters in film and see a totally different person, that’s amazing. Some actors are so one dimensional. One character is their every character. They’re the same in every part they play. Not Jeremy. He is just soooo amazing. I couldn’t have said it better myself, I found it totally ironic that I was watching this amazing film about riots in America, set in the late 60’s, filled with depictions of police brutality and the mistreatment, disrespect and disregard of those they’re actually supposed to protect, only to flick over to the 6 o’clock news and see almost the EXACT SAME BULLSHIT HAPPENING. It is amazing to see how far America, “hasn’t” come. How is this possible? How can a supposed, “world super power” a nation referred to as a free nation, a lucky country, a country of endless possibilities, be treating its population in this way? How is it, that the American police are allowed to behave like a bunch of Neanderthals? After a past filled with learning experiences such as the Chicago riots, the Rodney King disaster and subsequent riots and of course the horrific murder of George Floyd among sooo many other tragedies. It seems ridiculous, that these same mistakes are still occurring. There is NO EXCUSE FOR POLICE BRUTALITY of any kind or for any reason so why are these things still being accepted? WHY IS THIS STILL HAPPENING? It’s embarrassing and shameful. To think in 1969, Americans were on trial for acting upon their lawful freedom of speech because of the mistakes of the police of the time, only to be watching the exact same thing happening in 2020!!! To put it simply, are humans really this dumb?????
