The Late Late Show with James Corden

Күн бұрын

James welcomes his guests Patrick Stewart and Mila Kunis, who was also a guest on our very first episode 8 years ago. And Mila, a Star Trek super fan, is extra excited to be on one of our last shows sat next to Patrick. The "Star Trek: Picard" lead talks about how playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard eventually led him to sending a Concorde jet into supersonic speeds.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

@DannyP-dm1pw Жыл бұрын
Never got why people worship celebs like that and feel weird.
@blackdogbrown
@blackdogbrown Жыл бұрын
@DannyP-dm1pw It's not about "worship" it's about passion and gratitude. Maybe you've just never been passionate about anything in your life. 🤷🏽‍♀️ It's not only about the "celebrity" it's about what they accomplished and who the "fans" looked up to, and wanted to follow, and who they credit as "their inspiration." People always get down on celebrities (and fans) and say "they're just people like everyone else" and *it doesn't matter* , they're people that have done extraordinary things and *the fans* take note of that, and are inspired by it. When those "naysayers" mock fans. I don't really think they understand fans' perspectives at all! I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case, growing up, I had a *very rough* upbringing, and I strongly depended on Tv/Films and yes, certain celebrities, as an *escape* from my reality. I took comfort in their acting, their smiles, their positive energy, because I had none of my own. These "regular people" saved my life and helped me to become a writer, so much so that I personally helped others *through* my writing. They made me have big dreams, and I worked hard to accomplish those dreams. So when those "naysayers" make fun of fans, they're really just mocking them for being passionate over something/someone that they love just because they "don't understand it". And that's something *I've never understood* . Why is looking up to people with admiration and inspiration such a "bad thing"?? It doesn't even have to be an actor. It could literally be anybody in history... Martin Luther King Jr., Langston Hughes, Mohammed Ali, Babe Ruth , Frank Sinatra, Betsy Ross, Harriet Tubman, Leonardo Da Vinci, Anne Sullivan/Helen Keller, George Washington Carver, Stan Lee, Walt Disney, Harry Houdini, Michael J. Fox (who's done so much for parkinsons) Maya Angelou, Beethoven, B.B. King, Etc. Etc. Etc. Just because "actors" didn't "save the world" doesn't mean they're not "heroes" in their own way and should be ignored for their achievements. Regardless if you (or anyone else) sees it as "nothing" someone else sees it as *everything* . Just remember that the next time you don't "understand something."

This is an amazing clip. James Corden is an amazing host who knows what to ask to get very personal with his guests with fun facts. Between Kunas mentioning her ring tone and the Stewart story about the Concord I don't know of many interviewers who gets this information out of guests (and the planning he did to get Kunis the "superfan of Star Trek" with Patrick Stewart). Most amazing to me is the dexterity of Patrick Stewart at 82 both in acting at a very high level and just carrying himself.

For the most part, I get a sense that actors from the UK are at a much much lower key than their American counterparts. By that I mean they are much more conversable, much more apt to share and open up, and more open to being approached. Patrick Stewart IS a BIG DEAL., but, he is so open. Then, there is Mila. SUCH a sweetheart. Lovely in every sense of the word. If I were to meet her, I am sure it would be SO creepy to her that I acted like I knew her....
